Ie Closing

Every time I close a tab in IE I get a msg that IE is closing. Picture below.

I know there are other browsers but I'm trying to fix IE.

Any information would help and I thank you in advance.

get rid of IE. it's never stable, not that great. use firefox or waterfox. (waterfox handles memory better).

its impossible to determine the reason of a crash. it could be malware or viruses in your system. it might need updating. the update might have caused more issues. lots of things.

I agree. I never use IE, and chrome only on my phone. Neither one are that great, and a website has to be designed for chrome or it will not show like on firefox that is not needed.

I wouldn't bother with it at all. IE is extremely vulnerable to malware and viruses, and completely unnecessary now. I completely disabled mine. It's impossible to say why it's doing that but it has probably been infected. Kill it.

Thank you Mike and Dan for your quick responses. Much appreciated.

No fancy stuff on my phone, I'm still using a dial-up... that's the one that has a circle in the middle and you dial by putting your finger in a hole............. Just Kidding!

Thanks Louise... getting out the gun now lol.

Recent versions (IE 10 and 11) are no better or worse now than anything else as far as being prone to malware, etc. So long as you keep up with the monthly patches. What makes them vulnerable is using JAVA Runtime and the Adobe Flash Player. Those really are things you should get rid of.

Most likely you have a corrupt browser plug in. Go to Tools/Internet Options/Programs tabs, then click on Manage Add Ons. Disable all your add ons. If it works fine, then enable them one at a time until you find the culpret.

I'm not fond of IE or Chrome, I use Firefox with no complaints

I use Chrome, Foxfire and Apple's Safari for windows and a little know browser called Opera.

All of them work better than IE. Chrome is the best for me when using FAA.

I primarily use FireFox but do have IE on both of my computers. I test everything I put online (sites, pages, images) by viewing them in IE. Why? Despite its shortcomings and vulnerabilities, IE is still the most widely used browser in the world.

I thought the only reason people had IE anymore was to download another browser.
