Buying Your Own Art

I have another question to add to the long list of search engine questions!
This is completely hypothetical, but if I was to buy one of my photos from FAA and order it from my own account, would
the search engines pick it up as a sale? Would it show up on the recently sold page? Just curious!

It won't show on recently sold.

Parker,

To my knowledge it will not push you up the rankings. But, (think outside the box) who else in your extended circle could order it for you? Hmm, got your wheels turning, huh :-)

even if it did, you would have to buy a lot of them frequently. i'm thinking also, the size makes a difference. like the more money you make for the site, the higher you would be. and i don't think card sales count in that total, but i could be wrong.

You can buy all of your own art that you want but that won't necessarily compel others to buy it.

Gonna have to call up the neighbors ;) Ha! I definitely don't have the desire to buy one of my photos to rise up in the search, one more question. One of my photos was bought and then cancelled before shipment, but the engine seems to pick it up as a sale. If a sale is cancelled does it still show up? Should I add it in my Sales gallery?

"If a sale is cancelled does it still show up?'

Show up where?

"Should I add it in my Sales gallery?"

I was taught: "If I have to think about it, I probably should not be doing it." But, everyone is different - it's your call.

I buy lots of my own stuff (all digital and no good printer). However, I buy it while logged in. No sense in paying the extra just to get it back. And it would seem dishonest to promote that as a "sale".

And as for a cancellation, it may show up for a while, but the system (behind the scenes) will remove that sale from your record. Not sure I would put it in your sales gallery ....

I was the first to buy one of my photos - and the next day it ended up on the front page of FAA - and stayed there about 3 months....

....Just saying....

the sale will still show in the listing as far as i know. which is really bothersome because you still get comments even if you never got the sale. since it's copied right to that list as soon as they buy it.

Hahaha I wondered about that many times..how many bought their own art and if it was ending on the sales page for doing so! ..A sale is a sale to FAA so who care where it gets its money from right!
