How Do Artists Get On The Featured Page On Fine Art America ?

Do anyone know how they select the artists to be on the Featured Artist page ? I am not finding any information on this and would really like to know. I can use all the help I can get with getting noticed among the photographers on Fine Art America. I have been here a year and have 245 photos in my galleries, and try to do my best with tagging, and I also used to participate in contests and other groups but this is taking up a lot of time that I do not have. I have only sold 4 photographs in the year that I have been on this site.
I could really use some help, pointers and tips with getting more recognition.

Thank you

Amy,

My understanding is, that the owner of the website and his staff make those selections.

4 sales in your first year? You're already doing better than MANY of us.

I've been here since December and only sold 2 items...both to my dad. So I don't really count those...

BUT, I am setup to have my new additions post to my Facebook page and was getting a few views from there, but this past week I finally setup a Twitter account and I will get 30-40 views of my photographs within a couple of hours. I think you have to do Facebook, Twitter, and any other means of marketing yourself out there. And getting people to view/like/favorite your photographs on FAA help get your artwork pushed to the top. So the contest are good for getting your stuff out there too...if you are looking to make money, I am thinking you have to already have a captive audience, or you have to build an audience as people won't just stop by for the hell of it. I'm not looking to quit my daytime job, but I know if I want to move any photographs I will need to find ways to market them. Considering printing some of my items and selling at a local craft show or even auctioning my items off (would probably be Relay for Life so I would be donating them), but adding a business card to the back of each photograph pointing them back here could lead people to visit your site more as well.

I noticed that as much as they talk up the visibility you get with FAA online and how much they appear in search engines, I can't find any of my photographs via Google or Bing. So if you want to be seen...you have to make it happen yourself.
