When I think of artists on here whose work I really like, Leonid Afremov's work really stands out to me. I consider him a modern master. I don't think he comes into the discussion forum. But check out his work if you haven't already.

There are too many really wonderful artists here for me to name just one. I would feel I am slighting the others...But since you asked here are just two....
Carolyn Weltman and Mike Savad...
But believe me I can name many others who I truly respect for their talents, both in the art of photography and painting.

I really admire Alfred Ng. Not only is his work exceptional but he has a great attitude too as shown in his posting on the forums. Plus he does a lot of work in watercolor which is a medium I've never been good at.

It is really a difficult decision from the hand-full on my Favorites. I would have to say Mia Tavonatti.

SO many. But I have to go with JL Meadows first. As a child, my first goal in life was to illustrate children's books, and JL has exactly the style I always wanted to do. : )

I would have to say John Beckly and Micheal Lang because they inspired me to start my journey.

There are so many that it is difficult to name just one. Like the show, "Family Feud"... if I had to rattle names off in so many seconds, I'd say the work of these artists are outstanding in every way:
Alphabetically....
Vivian Anderson, JC Findley, Mike Savad and Harold Shull.
It pays to post in this forum because you do get noticed.

This is a very good post simply because we can find new work to look at by naming our favorites. I looked up a few mentioned and they don't appeal to me but art can be very subjective at times which makes it that much more interesting.

Graham Gercken http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/graham-gercken.html You can almost feel the temperature of the place he was painting.
Dan Carmichael http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/dan-carmichael.html?tab=artworkgalleries&artworkgalleryid=313074 His ethereal shots are magic.
Mario Sanchez Nevado http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/mario-sanchez-nevado.html among others proves you don't have to have a million images to make a sale.

Darlene Foster http://fineartamerica.com/art/all/darlene+foster/all (we're contemporaries, many times photographing the same things, but she has a unique style of composing)

I've recently come across Krasimir Tolev & I particularly like his wonderful simplicity.
Odd Jeppeson does texture & mood exceptionally well.
Barry Lamont is a splendid sculptor & funny as a fart.
I'm also particularly enjoying work from Krystina Spink, Jennifer Alvarez, Stacy C. Bottoms & J.L. Meadows.

John Dziobko has some excellent color photographs of trains and railroads from the 1950s and 50s that he shot --
http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/john-dziobko.html
Robert Lyndall also has some great steam train shots. His come from when the railroads would run steam excursions in the 80s and 90s. I missed tis time chasing girls and not trains and thought I would never see two of the best looking steam engines run except in shots by Mr. Lyndall and others.
And then Norfolk Southern announced it was taking the above locomotive out of storage and returning her to service after a rebuild program, but I digress.
Tim Wilson has some great photography around one of my favorite cities, Richmond, Va., both rail and non-rail
http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/tim-wilson.html
Mark Van Dyke has some wonderful images from Upper Carolina.

Douglas Berry also has some spectacular Carolina images.
