What Settings Do I Export At To Print A 40x60 Inch Print

Im using Lightroom... Attached is a screen shot of my export settings screen.

The image I want to print at this size had to be cropped down to 4,735X3157 pixels

What do I set everything at?

HELP!

Well in that box you would just enter the 60 and let other one fall where it will. If you cropped it right that will be 40. As you want to keep the upsizing to a minimum set the DPI to 100 and leave the don't enlarge box unchecked which will force a resample. Like I said they don't really like to see up sampled work posted for sales here but you could try and order a print for yourself.
Keep the quality at 100%. It should come in under 25 MB after you save it but if not then lower the quality until you get it there.

Actually send a site mail to Rich Franco. He may be able to get you closer to what you need to get exactly 40x 60 and keep the MB at close to 25.

Those settings show the image as being 18000px by 12000px. Your 4735x3157 would need to be at 78ppi to equal approximately the size you want. That only means it can not be enlarged at the 78 or higher ppi.

Do this: Rename and save it at the settings you have showing. Reopen it and save it at the original numbers (4735px by 3157 px) but at 78 ppi, again renaming it. Check each for distortion by enlarging them to 100%.

I don;t think you understand the question Louise. He has a 4735 x 3157 file and wants to know how to set it so it will make a 60 inch print. What you just said to do was to upsize it and then downsize it to the starting size again but change the DPI so it prints a 78 ppi 60 inch print at the original file size.
I am going to bed. Good luck !

Why all this talk about DPI/PPI? The only thing that determines largest FAA print size is pixel dimensions. 6,000x4,000 pixels should do the trick. It's theoretically 24MP, but if it turns out to be more, reduce the JPG quality setting until it fits under 25MP.

Isnt that what i said in the first place Murray? Just the same thing using the dialogue box he has shown. In fact i said it in the other thread . Not something that was not ever crystal clear clear to me even before I made my first digital print 15 years ago. The reason I said 100 Dpi is because that is the Dpi that is needed to print. I said it every way possible in the first thread.
I dont see pixels in this box so read the question Murray.

don't size the image in photoshop, you'll only stretch the image. if the image isn't at least 5500px, you won't get a 60" print out of it. if you adjust it in photoshop, you'll only mangle the image. and with a setting of 300dpi, at 60" when it started out as - i guess that would be like 12" at 300dpi - you'll increase the size exponentially and will have an overly stretched image that will have to be saved at a low quality. just ensuring it won't print. you'll just have to be satisfied that your images won't be printing at 60", but closer to around 48".

Bradford, I am not saying upsize/dowsize or whatever. If he changes the ppi to 78 and leaves the 60x40 there, he maybe be able to get the correct size (25mb). Nothing to lose by trying. No need to be huffy.
