Request For Feedback

Hi everyone - I'm brand new to FAA and very excited about the possibilities. I'd be very grateful for any feedback on my collection, specifically in regard to quality and price. Thank you, and don't hold back!

Hi John, welcome to FAA.

Why do you have white frames around all your images?

Sebastian, by reading John's descriptions to his photos. I am guessing those white frames are the mattes around the prints. Since John is also selling original work

You are only offering 8x10, or as your description of the images states 5x7 in 8x10 white frame. Why? If a customer wants to matte the image he can configure it that way when he orders it. When he gets the framed image you are also going to get an extra commission on the matte and frame.

The few dusk images seem to be noisy.

I see Crystal, but by doing this nobody will order acrylic, metal or canvas. He essentially limited himself to selling only the originals or the regular prints.

Welcome, John! Your industrial art is striking, and there is definitely a market for it. Your prices are not unreasonable as far as I'm concerned. But it looks like you're only offering one size - 8x10 - and with the large white borders, buyers are getting a very small image for what they're paying for. Lots of buyers will be turned off by that, especially if they want it framed with their own choice of color mat. If you have the full size images, why not upload them without the borders?

If you're selling actual original prints that you have made, you need to say so on no uncertain terms and not offer prices in the box. You can do this in Behind the Scenes. But it seems peculiar to use a POD site to sell original photographs when you could just sell digital prints like everyone else.

Either way, no matter what you're doing, it's confusing the way you have it set up right now.

Thank you for the feedback, everyone - and so fast!

Just to explain, the white border is on the print itself, not a mat, and it's because some of my images aren't large enough to be a full 8 x 10 at 300 resolution. Hearing your reaction to this, I'll go back to the original files and see if I can't make them larger and still keep the resolution.

Thank you again... this has been very helpful already!

You can upsize your combo at Burger King, but you can't upsize photos. That kills the resolution and they won't print. FAA won't print the white borders and it sounded like you were selling originals that you have at your home or what have you. What kind of camera are you using? Why are your images so small? I try to post nothing smaller than 20X30 here.

I like your subject matter....images in my photography galleries are similar....it's hard not to appreciate that kind of beauty...as far as a market goes, not sure there is one...but if you find one, lemme know!

Joseph, so can he get fries with that?

I haven't read the other reviews. I like your industrial shots very much, and I like the wide borders. Not sure why you are saying in your description that these are not digital prints.... ?

Welcome!

try to stay away from these giant mat borders. many may want to get a mat, and others won't. it will look odd as a canvas. the description is a bit confusing. but ideally, if you want to sell large image, make a large image. don't use empty filler. the smaller sizes don't sell that often anyway.

i don't get why your selling a 8x10 anyway, with the border you can get a 30" print.

do you have a better avatar by any chance?

price wise is ok, your only selling the one size though.

we print at a 100dpi here. 1000px is a 10" print, but it has to be clean up close, no noise. or very little of it. they will reject it otherwise.

i think they will print the white borders, but not many will buy it that way. some people only have space for a small image, but they want a small image not a larger one with a fake mat.

Thank you for your replies. They've been extremely helpful, and I've revamped my listings to use as much of this great advice as possible.
