*** Please share any artwork you have that features any places, people, things, etc...from NEW YORK STATE. All mediums welcome *** NO nudity please!
New York State has many wonderful natural wonders, unique buildings, interesting people, ect.... let's show the world our art featuring this great state, that I love to call 'home'.
Please also add a description to your post, and the "alt tags" ( http://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=1431449 )so that the search engines can find your wonderful works.
Also, please comment about the work(s) posted above yours.
You may add up to 6 'regular' sized images per post....or 3 'double' sized images per post. Feel free to make more then one post tho over the course of the week.
TO ADD PICTURES OF YOUR WORKS INTO THIS FORUM POST:
1) Go to the images page on FAA
2) Look on the right hand 'sidebar' for that image
3) Scroll down to where it says 'link' and click in that box which will 'select' the link
4) Press either "control c" (or "command c" for a MAC?) to copy that link (you cannot 'right click' to get it)
5) Come to this forum post and press "control v" or "command v" to paste it into a reply.
6) Repeat the process above for up to 6 pictures per individual post (you won't see the actual picture until you press "Post Reply")
If you want to double your picture's size you must double BOTH the "width" and "height" numbers that are in that link you just copied and pasted. (Limit 3 double sized images per post)
For example...in the partial link below, mine show Width=250 and Height=194 (so I'd change that to Width=500 and Height=388) to double my picture size
( src='http://fineartamerica.com/displayartwork.html?id=12286013&width=250&height=194' alt='Sell Art Online' title='Sell Art Online' style='border: none')
I can't wait to see what you share!

David...thank you for your kind words and for sharing those lovely pictures near Old Forge. I've never been there! Now to Google where it is, which I should already know but I'm quite "Geographically Challenged", I'm sad to say.
Bradford: Lovely image! Lighthouses are one of my favorite things to photograph. Thanks for sharing that.

Ah, thanks David! We were soooo close to the Adirondacks when we drove through the Tug Hill Plateau while driving from the Thousand Islands (Alexandria Bay) to my husband's home town of Oneida. We hope to take a train to the Adirondacks soon, as my husband did when he was a 'kidlet'. I can't wait to see them...and find lots of waterfalls to photograph!

Roy: Lovely photos! OLV used to be my parish when I lived in Lackawanna.
Michele: Love the monochrome used on Taughannock Falls!

Rose - we stopped for lunch, I think, and then I made a U-turn to go back to take photo's of the OLV basilica. It was so beautiful inside - and there was no objection to taking photo's - although they'd appreciate not using a flash - and they also asked that any photo's inside not be published/used to make money - they sold images of the inside to raise money for their school - and I respect that. Outside - fair game.

I took a skyline of New York City and filled it in with scenes and things having to do with NYC. I was pleasantly surprised to find I could use different colors for the lettering and it made it look different enough for each image, giving the customer some choices. There are more in my gallery.

Very creative and well done, Suzanne !
Each year over 8 million visitors from all over the world come to this area on the border between Canada and the United States. There are actually three waterfalls, the American, Bridal Veil and the Canadian or Horseshoe Falls which are collectively known as Niagara Falls. Many say that the best place to view the falls is from the Canadian side where you can see them all from a distant point of view. But I found a fantastic view from one of the lookout points in New York's Niagara Falls State Park. From here I saw the beautiful Niagara River Gorge and the Rainbow Bridge crossing into Canada. I was so close that I could hear the roar, feel the mist and the amazing power of nature as millions of gallons of water rushed ... Over The Edge.

Thanks for sharing, everyone! I wish I could see many of these instead of that stupid tiny icon box....sigh...keep them coming!

Mel, stunning view of the Falls! I agree...I think the views from NY are stunning, altho I have yet to see them from the Canadian side. Me and my husband have our 'enhanced licenses' now so I hope to get over to NF Canada to see for myself. I took these aerial views of the Niagara River & surroundings from the tethered balloon ride they used to have there:

Jetson the 2 people in the lower left of your Brooklyn Bridge photo really make the image for me - nice work!

Really enjoying this thread - lots of nice work! Jetson's Roaring Brook Falls and Chris's Morning in New York really jumped out at me as I scrolled through this morning. But then, I'm clearly a sucker for landscapes! :)

EDIT: Does anyone know why the color fidelity is different when i post my images to this thread? These images look very different here than if you go to my page and look at them ...

Rose,
Please have a few extra days for your thread due to the recent technical issues with images. How about we close now on 8/5?
