Adding A Model Release To An Image

Someone please help. How on Earth do you add a model release to an image you are uploading. I am going mad trying to figure it out. I want to be in compliance. Help! :)

You do not have the ability as it stands. There are site changes in the works, we'll have to wait and see if it becomes a requirement in the future.

Oh really? That is very strange...every microstock site I have sold on requires a model release. It is extremely strict, especially on iStock. Well, thanks for the info. I'll be ready to include my release when the time comes.

This is a fine art site. You do not need a model release if you are selling your work as "art." I am not a lawyer so correct me if I am wrong....

Fine Art, generally speaking, does not require releases. If you have enabled the Pixels.com domain from 'Behind the Scenes' and are electing to sell, for example, phone cases (or any other future commercial products), you would need one. Whether the site owner decides to implement the upload requirement in the future remains to be seen.

Allegresse - welcome to the wild, wild west at least in terms of licensing.

Thanks Robert and Jeff for your replies. I only joined today, so I'm very much a newbie. ;-)

Edward, thanks. I feel like such a...a...rebel! lol

I should add, model release requirements are outlined in the Terms of Use for the website.

Jeffrey, thanks. That was worded exactly as I suspected. The trouble is...there is nowhere on the upload form to comply with that rule! Strange...

Changes are in the works, we'll see what happens :-)

Allegresse, Keep in mind that the new licensing program here runs like no other that you may have experienced, there is no staff of reviewers checking for quality, trademark issues, model releases, print-ability or sale-ability. And you will need to find your own customers.

Mr. Fielding seems to be (from my experience with FAA) right on target.

I see. Well, it is definitely unlike anything I have experienced! Looking forward to seeing how this works for me and my business. :-)
