Help! Originals Lost And No Back-up

Hi everyone,
I hope somebody else has suffered the same: I lost almost everything !! :(
I know, I need a backup solution in place ASAP, but for the moment I'm pretty sure that
as an official member of FAA since 2011, I should be able to ask back the original files,
that are 100% my artistic and intellectual properties.

Any idea how to proceed?

Very hopefully, thanks in advance
AB

Put in a request to Tech Support, they will assist.

hmmmm.....maybe I'm stupid, but....

where is Tech Support? You mean send them a message?

Honestly, I tried once already...for a single artwork, and I never got any reply

any clue?

If it is a corrupt hard drive and not a physical drive failure you may be able to use this free program to pull the files off the drive IF it has not been formatted and IF no additional files have been saved on the drive after it became corrupt.

even if the drive has physically failed you may be able to get information back. Only thing is the service isn't cheap. Typically $1,000 or more but it depends on how much you need the photos. Companies like OnTrack can help - http://www.krollontrack.com/data-recovery/

And I'm sure you have learned this lesson the hard way but go buy an external drive or an online subscription and back up your files. Yes, many (including myself) don't back up as much as we should but it's better than not doing it at all.

Hope you can recovery your files.

I had that happen before and I had to start from scratch and re-upload all my memory cards. That was a bummer.

It happened to me in 2004 or 2005. I lost everything, including a novel length manuscript that was 95% complete. I learned my lesson.

Andrea,
Did you know you can store all your images on the photo site "flickr" for free AND at full resolution...You can then download your images at full resolution also....Flickr must have billions and billions of images stored by now....(Of course, I pray to the image gods that Flickr does not crash someday).

I'm not sure what caused your problem BUT I would find a data recovery specialist in your area. They should be able to recover the lost files for you, or at least most of them. A good data recovery person can work wonders!!!!!

My ex wife threw my computer out of a second storey window once..hence the EX... I should have been able to retrieve the files but the garbage men got to it before I did.. I lost my life's work. So I can sympathize.. I wouldn't wish it on anyone and certainly don''t "hope" that anyone else has suffered this travesty :-).. but I get what you mean.. This happened to another guy on here and tech sorted him out!

You can also switch the hard disc to a working drive. The info is probably still on it.

That sucks that it happened to you. It happened to me once too. Not on this site but a collection of work I had. I learned my lesson from that to always back up my work. Fortunately, FAA should be able to help you with your issue.
