May I post my thoughts about the app here?
I've been using it for a while now, and to be honest, it's pretty useless for me except to view comments and votes on my images. Here's why:
Right off the bat, I started viewing pics and leaving comments. Soon, I noticed that comments I posted on the app didn't show up on the image page when I was on my computer. I asked someone who's image I commented on If she saw my comment, and explained the situation to her. She didn't see my comment. It only appears on the app.
I know that I can't use the app to comment on images.
I get notifications that someone "liked" my image, but it's not a real name. Someone comments on my pic, and tells me they favorited/liked, and in see a new like and vote in the notifications on the app, but the favoriter is a different name than the liker. I tested it by liking my own images, and the app gives me a notification that I liked, but when I look through the activity, I see that "Clive" liked my images. I know now after numerous tests that I am Clive, although he is a real person on FAA who has no images uploaded.
I don't use my iPad to take pics that I'd sell on FAA, so I can't see me ever uploading images through the app.
I like the wall thingie, I just wish the frame were bigger. I'd never do a purchase on the app, I don't trust it. I'd go to my computer and make the transaction if I wanted to buy anything.
The only use I have for the app, is to look at pictures. It's fun to see who my favorite photographers favorite, and follow them in the rabbit hole, I often discover new favorites myself. Sucks that I can't leave comments as well as favorite images. I have to log in on my computer later, and visit my favorites tab to go back and leave comments.
For me, the app is just a fun novelty. Even now, though I'm typing this on my iPad, I'm using Safari to access the site, and I haven't opened the app at all today. I'm glad I didn't pay money for it, so I can at least say I'm getting my money's worth.
Bottom line - it's only useful to me if I want to look at pictures. Having said that - I did use it to show my mom (a non computer user) my pictures. She was able to easily swipe through my portfolio. That is also very useful. Maybe some day, I'll be able to use that feature to an actual buyer.
