Feel Soooo New!

I have been clicking around, reading discussions, keeping tabs on the chat room and even uploaded my first image but still feel so lost. I know I need to add more photos and I plan to but .... guess I want to make sure I am on track before I go making a mess of things. Up load for free ~ sell your prints ~ and receive a check ~ almost seems to good to be true. I am looking forward to becoming more involved and hoping I will be able to make a few sales. Just out of curiosity is there anyone out there that uses FAA for their full time income? Is that even a possibility?.

I'd venture to say that those that make a full time income here with very few exceptions have a following before they setup shop here. It this is the only outlet it is a long slooooow road to sales. It does happen and sales tend to grow over time. You could sell the first image that goes up or it could take 6-12 months and 1,000 images before the first one sells.

i belong to a few sites, and it is my main income. to sell you need a lot more images and you have to advertise. be sure to add descriptions to everything. it's for the buyer and google.

Well, they say if something seems too good to be true then it usually is. Not that I want to discourage anyone, but to be realistic it isn't very easy to generate sales here unless you are a marketing genius or have excellent and unique work that sells itself. I keep on trying though.

They don't send out checks anymore, so set up a Pay Pal account and fill out all the relevant information Behind the Scenes if you have not already. Like others said, it's not easy to sell here, but it can be done. Don't give up your day job just yet though. I'd guess those that make a living solely off of selling their photographs are few and far between, but it can generate some nice on the side dollars.

By the way, I dig this shot. Dare I say, it's very moooving!

I have been doing photography for years but this is the first time I have explored the possibility of on line work I dont want to get caught up in a bunch of scams.
