Sydney,

What file type are you trying to upload?

Sydney Mercer

jeffrey: jpeg, at full resolution...i get as far as the upload link, but it never *takes,* showing no progress whatsoever, and then, it times out without having loaded ANYthing ..
....i've paid close attention to all the other specific requirements, as well...nada....i'm very disappointed...

is your file less then 25 mb?

Jeffrey Campbell

By chance are you uploading jpeg files below 25mb in size?

Secondly, be sure you only have one Fine Art America window/tab open.

Sydney Mercer

yes...less than 10MB....

as to the second....i've only the one window/tab open

It should be working. Is your file color space Adobe RGB?

If all else fails, please try a different browser.

------

To add from the FAQs:

Your images need to be saved as JPEG files using the sRGB or Adobe RGB color space.

We do not support TIF files or GIF files.

We do not support the CMYK or ProPhoto color spaces.

Also - your files must be 25 MB or smaller in size.

After you choose image did you hit an "upload image"
button?

jeffrey: as initially noted, i've followed every parameter required by FAA to-the-letter...so, yes...it is...i've been loading images to the web for decades, so i am not without experience re. potential glitches or oversights....
i know it SHOULD be...*LOL* but, it ain't!

viktor: of course i am, sir! isn't that the intent, after all? :c)

Sydney Mercer

it's only after that, that everything freezes...it *registers* as connecting, but the progress bar goes nowhere, and no time elapsed is noted...and then, the entire effort just times out..

Sydney,

Try a different browser, sometimes that issue solves it. In the interim, I have forwarded this to Tech Support for you.

jeffrey: if i was successful at loading my profile image on the browser i use (firefox), should i not equally be able to load images to my website on FAA?

Sydney Mercer

thank you, jeffrey! i've equally requested email tech support help, but as often as not, hit the discussion boards for the help of members when i'm stymied...i often receive answers from the same long before tech support kicks back a response...*G*

In theory, yes.

I've encountered bugs in the past when it would not let me upload with Chrome, for example, and when I switched to Firefox everything was fine - and vice-versa.

Sydney Mercer

jeffrey: methinks, perhaps, FAA should be able to (and strive to) rectify such particulars to serve their clients more efficiently and effectively...*sigh*

Sydney Mercer

i did note, yesterday, that several members were dealing with this issue, as well, but then the discussion closed when the tech support gal posted "FIXED"....perhaps, a bit prematurely...;cD

Sydney, I understand.

You're to only member who has reached out to report uploading errors. Sounds as though you're doing everything correctly, but we need to rule out a possible browser error.

Generally, when it's a site-wide error, numerous people open threads to report uploading issues.

To add: I just now uploaded a test image with no errors on Google Chrome browser.

Sydney,

From Tech Support:

If you are having a problem uploading using the single or multi, please check......

........the images are under 25mb

You are not uploading from a memory card but uploading to your computer and then loading here

Your file name is correct and shows no spaces or .'s where they should not be.

You are not using 'Redirect Remover' or 'Social Tracker Stopper' add-ons on the browser

You have tried a different browser

It is taking under 15 minutes (any longer is a connection issue. check your speed here http://www.speedtest.net

Sydney Mercer

jeffrey: i've checked each and every highlight you've noted, save for switching my browser...i'm not partial to google chrome for a number of reasons, but if all else fails, and my fruitless attempts likewise continue to fail, i'll cringe, but try google chrome or IE....*shuddering visibly*

my thanks, again, to both you and viktor for your offers of help! :c)

Let me know if a different browser does not solve the issue.

addendum: re. the speed test: D/L speed is 56.97Mbps; upload speed is 11.66Mbps

jeffrey: thank you. i shall!

It is no longer a one browser world. I use Chrome, Foxfire, IE, Safari and Opera on and off all day long. I have no problems with any of them to speak of.

I loaded five images about an hour ago... all went well.

Sydney Mercer

floyd: you are correct about that, as was jeffrey before you! as much as i dislike IE, i was, actually, able to get an image up on it lickety-split! (now, i'm juggling the pricing tango...*G*) i will keep trying to resort to firefox as it *is* my browser of choice, but i won't limit myself to it if it prevents me from loading my art...*G*

thank you for responding! :c) hope springs eternal!

Sydney Mercer

another addendum: thing is? i'm old, and sorta kinda stuck in my ways...i'm gonna hold out hope that firefox (or FAA, whichever one is at fault for my frustrations) will come around, eventually..*S*

Hi, Sydney,

I've loaded about a dozen pieces over the last 24 hours, all with Firefox, all with no problems. Like you, I dislike Chrome, but will use it in a pinch. I try not to use IE at all.

I love Firefox, but it's no longer the lean, mean, wonder that it used to be. When I have random FF problems, it's most often related to an Add-ons glitch. Usually this sequence works:

1. Disable add-ons (not uninstall!).
2. Exit Firefox.
3. Restart Firefox.
4. Enable add-ons.
5. Restart Firefox.

At that point, I'm almost always back to business as usual. :-) Also, I run Glary Utilities, as part of my weekly maintenance, to clean up all traces of browser 'temp' and other trash files -- that really helps to keep things running smoothly.

I hope you'll update here, if you ever find the answer to your problem. Enquiring minds want to know! ;-)

I use IE almost exclusively and very rarely have any problems uploading here. One thing no one has asked. Sydney, are you trying to upload multiple images at the same time?

Sydney Mercer

wendy: thanks for the tip! i'll give your suggestion a shot to see if that corrects the issue...

joseph: i was attempting a single image initially before opting to load multiple images as a sort of dry-run, but do have plans to load multiples once i can rest assured that they're loading to the page!
