Can You Critique This?

Contrary to all the glowing comments on the image page, I find the image hard to look at. Must be my old eyes.

I'm the same Murray, two eye operations recently and so at times I cannot see a back end of a bus, I get over that by viewing magnified version, if you click on the smaller one, which is harder to see, it might emerge degree by degree and with a bit luck you won't have to squint like me,

I had a conversation with an artist in Fine Art America that roughly revolved around changing the titles of Artwork.

After considering what he had to say, I offered to change the title of something I had produced if he went ahead and changed the title of his work.

In my enthusiasm to spur him on, I renamed the following work from "Thor the God of Thunder" to "Michael the Archangel".

The other person was pondering the possibility of making more sales if his work had a different title.

At the moment I am waiting for his permission to include further details of his work and extracts from the conversation.

Until he gets back in contact with me here is "Michael the Archangel."

Well that bit is correct Barry but you know of the hundreds of thousands of members in FAA I doubt there were more than 10 camp followers that evening.

Copy it as many times as you want Barry, as long as your little finger keeps on hitting the V it will keep on coming out the same, that's a promise.

So... this post is a little confusing. Are you looking for a critique of your "art"..or are you looking to explore the question I posed in a "no rules" thread regarding the sell-ability of religious works? I cant see there being any issues with the first...but I certainly have issue with you discussing me and my work in a thread thinly veiled as a critique.

I care Murray.. because judging from Geordie's second post and the bulk of the OP, this thread has little or nothing to do with his artwork...and everything to do with a discussion that took place last week!

Edit: this thread is designed to flame and IS trolling!

Can you explain the religiosity of your image? It's not apparent to me.

Well I guess if you don't think it looks like Michael The Archangel then to you he doesn't look Michael The Archangel - but as name changes go I thought it was a name that would fit the bill better than something like Charlie Chaplin.

My point was simply that being abstract, you could probably name it just about anything. I thought you were asking the forum for thoughts on the name of your work. Maybe I misunderstood your original post. I asked about your name choice because I was wondering if there was something particularly religious about it, or if you gave it an angelic name to give it a connection to your religiously themed body of work.

Honest critique group

My suspicions is Geordie is bored. So this whole thread as I see it is to see if Barry will bite. He didn't. Get over it Geordie.

Honestly? Geordie, there is NO need to start a thread mentioning another member and their work. The ONLY reason someone does that is to begin a discussion that always ends badly

IF you wish to just talk about your work without starting an issue then please feel free to open a new one in the correct frame but, whilst this is a baiting Barry thread I am not interested in it staying open. Better yet, use Vivian's link
