I would be interested, but I am not a photographer. Any self-images are created through paint or pencil/charcoal/pastel (black and white).

Thank you for your interest. The good news is, you don't have to be a photographer to take a selfie. If you have a camera phone, tablet, or any digital camera you can try to take a picture of yourself. It could be a fun experiment and self-exploration to anybody.

Edit: I just looked at your self-portraits and they have lots of depth. If I am you, I would try to take a picture and see what I can express with a camera...sorry, I don't want to be "pushy"...it's up to you.

This is a really good and fun idea. Everyone should contribute. I did.

A while back I did a series on selfies that was very funny in one of my Blogs, all those included where from the now defunked My Opera - they all gave permission for me to include their work but now MO is no more would I be allowed to let you include them?

Anyone know the copyright info on such?

Geordie, I could be wrong, but if, as publisher, you own the rights to the images, you should be able to assign those rights to Marianna.

Me, too. My avatar is one of my selfies. I have two more on my website in the People Gallery.

Yes, I've just seen your selfies in your gallery, and the are interesting and have depth to them.
Actually I just wrote and update on my project, about this subject.
I copied it here, for the ones who don't want to visit my link:

"I just want to say, the reason I am doing this project, is because I think everyone deserves to be seen as they see themselves in the mirror.
When you take a selfie, it's very intimate, because it's only you and the camera...you can be the person you want to be.
As I said in my description in the project, you don't need to be an artist to take a picture of yourself, and the selfie doesn't always need to be "pretty".
It's more important they are interesting or unique.
Just to be who you are and be proud of it :) "

Thank you for your interest.
I think is great when photographers choose to take selfies and use them for avatars. My avatars are selfies too.

About the name SelfisBook; I choose to write it this way, because I want to create a brand name. I think to write it correctly, the word itself a little overused and I want people recognize it straight away, this is my book. That's why I made a simple logo for it too, as I want the content of the book do the "talking".

Thank you for bringing this up here, this will be my next update on my project.

I totally support your new adventure Marianna. Unfortunately I don't do selfies.....My avatar is as close as I can get. Great idea Marianna!

I would love to be able to ask them but they were my friends from My Opera and as My Opera is no more sadly I have lost contact with them all, They were very funny.

Once I've published the photo book of selfies, I might start collecting a traditional selfies from artists.
But I still think, maybe you could try to take a selfie with your camera phone and see if you would like to submit your selfie photo :)
