Wordpress And Shopping Cart Widgets

Hello -

I'm new to the FAA website and wordpress so please excuse any duplicate questions. I've search the discussions for any help but can't seem to find an answer. Is there a way to get the shopping cart widget to work on a blog on wordpress.com? Thanks for any help.

Anne,

Abbie is really good with things like this, I'll forward this thread on to her for you.

Well this one is easy. First you go to the marketing page on your behind the scenes and look for slideshows and logos. Then grab the code for the narrow one on the left (depends on how big your widgets area is).
highlight and copy the code to memory.
Go to your blog and appearance and widgets.
Add a text widget and copy the code into the text area and a title like Starving artist buy my work. and save. you should see it show up in your sidebar.
I hope this helps...

From what I understand if you have a self hosted WP ( .org ) it should work, the hosted ( .com ) does not accept iframe code.

You are right on that Frank.. They tightly control all aspects which means they don't have any conflicts with too many plugins or errant code. They only allow things so there is no conflicts in code. This means you don't have anyone call to customer support in a panic because a bad plugin took your site down which they don't want to have to fix... My wife has one of these and it works great for her..
Me? I want the control.. :-) If I break it, I beat my head against the monitor until me or the computer is bloodied and one is declared the winner! (Usually its the computer but I sometimes have my day also!)

Frank is right, I have a .com word press hosted website and unfortunately it won't work, they don't allow plugs ins. Shame because would love the shopping cart on there.

Thanks so much for all the tips and information. I had tried to add it a few times and I was hoping that I was doing something wrong. But it seems that I won't be able to add it. Too bad - I was really looking forward to more exposure to linking my FAA site. At least I have fb and g+

As everyone said, they strip the code. Sorry
