Impressionist Masterclass Diemersfontein Wine Estate Cape Town South Africa 2014/15

Impressionist Masterclass at Diemersfontein wine estate Cape Town South Africa 2014/15
One of South Africa’s most prestigious wine estates, Diemersfontein in Cape Town will be hosting an Impressionist masterclass over three days during the pending southern summer by Enver Larney. South African born and regarded as one of the last surviving of this genre, Larney has completed tens of hundreds of canvases from around the world over these last few decades, all completed in one explosive sitting and in the open with oils on canvas. Reminiscent of the golden age of Impressionism (1872-1886) and perhaps the key to unlocking creative freedoms taken for granted today, Larney has decided to conduct a selective class in order to preserve these skills for prosperity.
Twenty applicants are invited from around the world for an all inclusive stay at the resort, including tasting the refined palette of Diemersfontein wines and its delectable South African gourmet cuisine in one of the world’s most famous and picturesque wine regions. Larney grew up around here and has subsequently travelled the world extensively, completing a massive portfolio rivalling that of his distant peers of the late nineteenth century in France and making this fascinating style once more a collectors dream. After more than fifty one man shows globally, he has once again decided to make these rare canvases available to the general public and will also be hosting a limited portfolio of work from around the world and South Africa for local art aficionados to enjoy. This event will be introduced on the eve of the creative seminar for successful applicants. More information will be available soon.

I feel a bit like a stranger in my own house here these days....but good to see some old faces....

thanks Tony, Chaline and Mike....hope all is well with you...painting and travelling keeps me pretty much occupied and I read some posts now and again...miss the volatility, angst and mayhem of yesteryear upon which art thrives but time is for all and for all things and in quantum terms, the future, past and present are all one.

Carpe Diem.

Congratulations, Enver - no one better deserves the honour..........and glad you are 'home' again for a while....it is a special place....although::

..."the more it changes, the more it's the same thing", usually translated as "the more things change, the more they stay the same,"

1839 Alphonse Karr became editor of Le Figaro, to which he had been a constant contributor; and he also started a monthly journal, Les Guêpes, of a keenly satirical tone, a publication which brought him the reputation of a somewhat bitter wit. His epigrams are frequently quoted, for example "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose". wiki

Oooh! Don't I wish! Imagine Masterclasses with you, AND in South Africa, AND at a winery! I wish! Enjoy every minute, I know your 'students' certainly will.

Vivian....a bitter wit shall readily save a twit from itself and ask for nought in return.....:)....... thanks for the reminder of a pre-techno era....when everything was simple to understand.... and Sir (rank of seniority) Swezey poet extraordinaire....so we do have a silent shadow of trolls keeping the walls of Jericho high enough to keep some in and others out.....I don't have to worry about the village being flooded anymore.....my recent sojourn in the Soviet Union and satellites was comforting and made me understand the history of communism more...though it was north Africa and Morocco that ultimately saved the day....with warm ocean currents making it possible to sleep on beaches.....My South African work has had a fascinating response from unexpected quarters and I am trying to separate fashionability from earnest. Rained out in Hong Kong and now back in Australia licking my wounds....So wish me luck.

These corridors are certainly ringing with the sound of anvils.....

Greetings to you all....comrades in arms....'ruffins and potential angels.
