Quitting Groups

I kinda understand why administrators do it, but limiting one image per day is difficult to do when you are in many groups. When on the submission page, it's not easy to remember which groups want just 1.
For that reason, I'm quitting the groups that allow only one per day
Whadda you think? Am I missing something?

Larry...I used to submit to groups as I uploaded the images. Then realized that many were being rejected because of the limit rules. Now I pick one day a week/month...depending on time, to go thru my groups and submit a new one to each group. It also gives me a chance to see which groups may have images pending for long periods of time and which groups are inactive so that I can drop them. I know that if an image is rejected now, I either goofed or I need to contact the admin to find out why.
Just my way of dealing with the limit rules and staying on top of my groups.

I upload my new images but don't check off the groups until I post the new one. That way they are getting only one a day from me. If I can remember that there are some with more, I just go back and add them.

I actually prefer groups that only accept one image per day. Each day, I choose one image, then submit it to all appropriate groups.

It makes for much simplified record-keeping and is a time saver, as I don't have to keep checking the groups to see what's allowed.

I don't post that many per day. But there have been times I found images in the rejected files simply because the administrator of that group did not monitor the group very often. I ended up either asking them to be released... or just quitting that group and moving to another one that did something similar.

All administrators can do is to add the rejected images to the active folder. I wrote to one today and asked him to put mine in active and I'll be glad to remove them. I can't think of any other way to release them.

What I meant was I'll upload several but when I post it to a group I check off the groups. If I use other images in promotional threads, I use one that has already been submitted to the groups. I can't keep up with who wants what except for a few! lol!

Pam, If I understand what you're saying, you should be able to 'release' your images from any group by editing the image and 'un-checking' the appropriate group box.

Wendy is right, Pam, and most people - group administrators included - do not understand this. I submitted one to a group by mistake after an administrator had informed us that s/he was going to be on vacation and would not accept new submissions until s/he returned. S/he rejected all images submitted during that time - as promised. I just went to the image in question, opened edit, scrolled down to the Groups box, unchecked the box, and submitted. Then I went in again, scrolled down, and checked the box. It was featured today so obviously this worked.

I simply do not submit more than one at a time, regardless of the group policies. And I submit from the Group's page, not from my image edit page so it's no problem to remember. I do essentially what Lee does and pick a time when I can go from group to group, submitting an image to each as long as I don't have one pending.

I think features count for something, simply having an image accepted into a group does not. If you submit five at a time, chances are only one (if any!) will be featured. But if you submit the same five images spread out over, say two weeks, your chances of having several of them featured (provided they are a good fit for the group and excellent images) are excellent. I belong to many groups, but I only have a limited number of images that are appropriate for any of them. Why would I want to put them all in at once and then have nothing left to submit a week or a month later?

I agree with both Lee and Nikolyn and have been submitting only 2-3 times per week. There are many other medias by which I am now promoting my images which takes time. It is best to see it as having multiple outlets (ie: retail stores) to hang my images (virtual reality) and my time as the investment rather than the financial investment of actual framed images.

Where I live in Thailand, my Internet is a bit hit and miss. This can give me time to complete several images, but then I need to be very careful when I upload several in a day to spread them among my favorite groups and then add some later. Honestly, I forget a lot. I can also understand why some group admins do not want to be flooded with works too. I guess I choose groups more by topic that matches my style and likes, than by upload #s. But we all have our own approaches.
