Originals

I've been pleased by recent developments at FAA. I like the idea that Sean is developing the site away from being a simple POD site..into things like Licensing. I've always thought the best way to compete with rival sites is for FAA to become "the complete online service for artists".

I'm a bit confused by the ORIGINALS set-up. Amongst other things I sell my own signed prints and was encouraged that the ORIGINALS option appeared to be working again. I'm also aware that selling signed prints probably takes business away from POD's sales. After recently adding ORIGINAL details I now find that some works show these "ORIGINALS" and others don't ?

Sites like Zatista sell ORIGINALS for artists and take a % of the SALE PRICE.. would it not be a logical next step to develop FAA along similar lines ? I'm pretty sure the extra income generated by SALES for FAA would cover the cost of someone monitoring these ORIGINAL sales. I don't think it would be rocket science to offer this option to artists who have a track record of sales and participation (ie. artists who are likely to deal professionally with original sales and deliver the work on time) From my point of view such a set up helps generate a better income than I can get from POD sales so FAA having this option gives me more reason to keep coming back and uploading work here.

Just a thought. (Please keep bumping this post up if you agree)

I'm not sure I am following what you are saying. FAA doesn't sell anything for us, we have to market it, and if WE make a sale, FAA will print it and ship it off. FAA is just our display window, if you will.
The option is there to let buyers know if you want to sell an original, and I have sold originals through buyers seeing them on FAA and contacting me. I do the deal, and then the shipping....but, I'm sure you know the routine.
So how do you see FAA selling originals for us?
