Brazil playing without its key players... I didn't except them to Mess it up that bad. A sad day for Brazil where a lot of great players are born. :(

Hopefully Messi will lead Argentina to the final and they give a decent match against Germany.

Argentina All The Way!!!

Just when I thought you were a nice guy.

Just kidding, I am Dutch, but you are probably right. Not a big soccer fan anyway. May the best team win. (on skills and not solely on luck)

I'll wait to see who Paddy Power is preferring... and I'll go with whatever Paddy says... because he's an expert :-)

I told you these matches were fixed! FIFA really pulled to wool over everyone's face this time. The most amazing fix in history. I guess there is a difference between German footballers and German American footballers. You think?

Alexandra Till

LOL Craig, all that comes to my mind reading what you said about "the football world cup is fixed" (the first time and now) is:
This poor guy suffers from some kind of paranoia.

Argentina in the final wouldn't be bad ... one team from each side of the pond.
Of course at the end I'm cheering for Germany in the final.

Hey, its a joke! I am still in shock. I really felt sorry for the fans who they kept showing in tears. Its always the fan who suffers most. Should be interesting tomorrow when Argentina get upset and there will be zero South American teams in the final.

Mario Carta

I can't believe my ears again, here we go again with who does'nt deserve to be in the semi finals, I say if they made it this far they deserve to be there, saying other wise is just sour grapes, Argentina is in the semi finals because it won the games it had to, last time I looked Fifa was not giving free passes into the semi finals Philip. The teams don't get in the semi finals based on quality, you gotta win games!

Alexandra Till

Sorry, I didn't get the joke, Craig. My fault.
The Brazilian team as well as their fans were destroyed. I still wonder how this disaster could have happened.

Hey... did anyone see the German manager time wasting against Ghana by kicking the ball away from a Ghana player who was about to throw it in from the sidelines.... anyone?...
You see...it's this kind of cynicism and downright nastiness that can make the difference :-) Sportsmanship and fair-play go right out the window at this "top" level of sport!

Mario Carta

Barry, worse than that , some German fans painted there faces black in support of Ghana, and boy did that not go over smoothly.

See the disturbances in Brazil, looked like Sao Pablo was burning!

The funny thing is that Máxima the wife of the Dutch King Alexander is Argentinian

If Netherlands lose I'll never hear the end of it from my flatmates... die hard Netherlands fans. I'm dreading when they get home from the pub tonight, win or lose there will be much screaming/crying/carrying on.

Higuain missed, Palacio missed, Messi seemed a little tired, ... I so wished that highly energetic Di Maria could have played.

Y'all can blame Roger - he rooted for the wrong team.

What about that image of Christ the Redeemer statue (Paul Landowski, Heitor de Sila) and the sun.??

Bravo!!.. to the cameraman, and to everyone else that had a part of that awe inspiring image.

Edit:

Roy,

I'll take the blame, for foolishly rooting for the underdogs

Mario Carta

Commiserations Mario! Away drown your sorrows like your little ant friend..

Amazing shot of the sun..

"ESPN's Ian Darke and Steve McManaman wanted to focus on the game. When the broadcast returned to the statue for a second time, they asked that the director get back to the soccer."....F****** philistines...

Hi Stan..Lol... How's things? you must be happy with your country's win..and maybe having some weissbier too?

Stanislav Killer

Barry,
im serbian and im so happy everytime germany is loosing. And i hate soccer btw :D been in a basketball team for more than 10 years, so i guess this hate is natural lol Without further explanations i do like to watch the swedish womens curling team ... :O .... ;)

weissbier is too sour, i like to drink goassmass: half dark beer, half pepsi (or coke) and a shot of sweet cherry liquor (this sweet stuff with 20% alc) , two shots if its a proper 1 liter jug , try it out my friend, you will be surprised how good it is.

Debbie Oppermann

Yeah Germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Couldn't watch the game - we were at a Music Fest - which was awesome - Aerosmith was rockin!

Barry Lamont

I'm sorry Stan... I got you confused with my German friend.. Swedish Womans curling??? lol! i'm not going to ask!.. I will be sure to try your drink at sometime soon.. :-)

Stanislav,

Another Curling Fan!!!

I LOVE CURLING!!!

Walter Holland

Yes. I too love curling!

I was delighted that Sweden advanced to the Olympic gold metal round last winter, and even more delighted that the match went the entire ten ends. (Decided in the ninth)

Yet I was not disappointed by the fact that our neighbors to the north won the gold. It was well deserved.

As for soccer? I certainly don't hate it. As a matter of fact I played on an intramural team in high school. I just don't watch it. :-/

Curling: being swept away by throwing stones... :)

Barry Lamont

Like the new avatar Sweeck..

We have a great woman's curling team in Scotland... World champions a few years back.. I like it too... I'm also a fan of the similar game indoor bools/bowling,, captivating stuff! It's strange how these "old folks sports" become more and more appealing with age :-)
