What Lens Do You Use For Fireworks?

I have been using my wide lens. I was wondering if anyone have used their long lens. I was just curious. Thanks.

depends on the location. if your on the top of a big building and the display is way over there - then a zoom or a long prime. if its closer than a wide. it depends on the land, buildings, etc - distortion and things like that.

It all comes down to the distance that you are from the display and what you want in the foreground and background. For instance, I shot the Freedom Over Texas fireworks display with a 35mm 1.8 at about f/8 using a remote shutter release, on a tripod and setting the shutter to bulb.

The one that works.
Not being smart, just honest. I have shot fireworks was a 50mm, a 28x80mm, a 80x300mm, and I just shot it with a 18x55mm, and I have never had a problem.
