A Reply To The Moderator I Think Ms Shore Or Mike Whoever Answered Me Thankyou

it is hard to get help and someone just took all the picture but they were on automatic instead of c mode as neither of us are photographers and how do I know if white balance is on and i wanted to make sure that they would print large enough so I set to large so I must retake all. omg they are all in a wall hanger hard to get down. I can not ask him again. I did watch him. I do have tripod we just did it all morning. I have a scanner on copy machine but that did not work for one I posted the other night the rose, i just had a stroke last sat but I will try I guess to late to paint. i want this done. i hate it so much harder and painful then painting. i cannot get to a place to do it. i am a shut in. i am perserverent. but stupid as I am going into deeper pain and this is a huge job without help. please get back to me if I can use the pictures we just spent hours taken but they were on automatic on a manual camera.

Hi Janice,

To try and provide help for you, having looked a few of your images, unfortunately, I do not feel they are print worthy. The only remedy in my opinion is, you'll need to find a local photographer in your area who will retake the pictures and edit them properly.

If you would like, my phone number is on my profile page. When you find a photographer you are comfortable with, have them give me a phone call and I can talk with them photographer-to-photographer to explain to them how things need to be done.

Does that help you?

To add: Janice, I've just reached out to another FAA member in your area asking for some assistance. Perhaps she will know someone who can help. You have a carbon copy of the mail here in your mailbox. Fingers crossed! :-)

Might be worth it at this point to pay a local photographer or someone good with a scanner to come help. Post an ad on craigslist maybe. I've photographed and scanned for people in my area.

Don't beat yourself up over it - you'll get there, you just had a stroke so take it easy and don't let yourself get so frustrated that you hate it.

Janice, what size are your originals? I used a local pro print lab in town to scan a few works. It would be worth checking out. Are any of these images being enlarged in a program after they have been taken? If so, that could be part of the problem. Are you or someone you know doing the edits on the computer after you download the images and if so, what program are you using?

Okay, if this original is an 8 x 10 as is listed in the description, scanning it by print lab would get you great results.

Janice, sent you a link to a scanner that was recommended in a thread recently. Two ways to do this, one is to get someone who knows more about photography and can get you the images on a file. Second is to scan, either yourself or a prolab. I'm not sure without knowing what your copy/scanner is, actually I still wouldn't know! lol. but somebody here will! Again, what software are you using to crop and edit the images in?

Have you been enlarging the original file sizes in Lightroom when you are saving them for export?

Would a bigger megapixel will solve the problem say above 12? I remember I was emailed by FAA on a pending sale and ask me to re shot it on bigger megapixel, enlarging it on some apps was prohibited (would not do the trick to sharpen details) and cost me some time to reply eventually it worked as advise but not the sale lol.

A friend here who does watercolors goes to OfficeMax or Office Depot to get them scanned for FAA.

Excellent Adam! I didn't think about them being able to do that :o)

Agree with Adam...any of those types of stores, office max, fedex kinkos etc, all will scan for you. We ship packages at Office Depot, and they have a whole section advertising printing and scanning services. If you can get decent scans, but need a little help with cropping contrast etc., I'll bet you can find some of that help here in this forum...I'd be happy to do what I can for you, and I see other people step up all of the time as well.
