This is the new Favorites of the Day Thread . The others have been closed by FAA from inactivity. They are wonderful , thanks to Nikki Dalton's tremendous contribution, so please take a look through them when you can.
The way this works: Post your favorite of the day, with or without a comment.
Let the person know you have done that if you have a moment more.
If you are favorited, please favorite someone else's work.

Dear Chana,
Thank you so much for selecting my painting “Deep Purple” as a favorite painting of the day- I am incredibly honored to be featured in the “Contemporary Floral” art group! Also I wanted to mention that I am so, so grateful for your constant support, heartwarming, meaningful comments on my paintings and warm welcome to your wonderful art group - my favorite on entire Fine Art website! I am so glad it’s active again with this great discussion thread – looking forward to contribute to the topics as often as I can. All the best, Tanya Filichkin

I spent an hour strolling through a few galleries, this evening, to add to the discussion page on "our Favorite Paintings" I came upon Madeiline's beautiful painting of poppies. This is done in acrylic which she uses almost as if it was watercolor on the canvas. Such a delightful painting that is filled with wonderful poppies dancing in the sunlight. I love paintings that make me smile and that is the reason I selected this:

The “Fruits and Tea” painting by Becky Kim is my favorite image of the day for discussion thread in "Conemporary Florals" art group.
Love this painting for abstract quality, simplicity of lines, gorgeous color application. Your style is amazing, Becky- love all of your artworks!

Looks like the image for my “Favorite of the day” was not uploaded despite a proper instructions "How to" Chana sent to me. Any suggestions from the group members who uses Mac, not PC, for a good way to upload image itself, not just a URL link? Would much appreciated. Thanks!

I am positive that when Chagall introduced his art, it was looked on with confusion. I imagine this new fresh, bold work might not be favored in India... I love the joy I feel in the artist's use of pastels.. It just makes my heart smile .. I hope there will be more floral paintings in coming months..

You find the most beautiful treasures, Maria.
I haven't been around much so just get to scan your beautiful finds..... and off to run again - art related.
I do like Fiona's Tulipomania. and just had to comment on that! Colorful, changing, lights and mediums and set off by the darks.
Very powerful and attractive!

Yes, and theTolere view point is looking down on the scene ....
seeing the bottom feet of the table and knowing the floral bouquet goes up out of view.
the supporting colors of spaces, usually not seen in between, get noticed and add punch.
Very attractive!

Thanks for the Choir of Poppies favorite, Maria. I appreciate.
I especially love creating images with use of the full spectrum of values.
So the white of the paper has a powerful place in a sunlit scene.
I used white in this way for years but it took a long time to establish that darks and black are just as important. NEEDED.

I appreciate Kathy Braud introducing the works of Carol Schiff. I had to go check out her paintings, as I have for most of the paintings above. What a treasure these paintings are and the artists that created them.

This colorful painting caught my attention AGAIN! Love Anne's work. Kathy
Sorry I have been gone & busy for awhile..... and hope to be more active again.
I am currently just back from an artist paint out for a week at a camp with a big group of artists of all disciplines just painting together and visiting and learning from each other. Worked on some new works and finished others. Great fall event to do!
The hauling of art to new display places in Minnesota is at a real up-swing right now also. I have many works that are framed and am displaying collections of them to the public in at least 8 different locations at his present time. FAA is only aware of the tip on my paintings iceberg. Wish you could see the real textures and colors!

I had to have 2 favorites today to expand my vocabulary... And, on this painting, you hopefully have a moment to read the "Description" on how this was created. Incredible... But, staying with the letter "B", this is Bright, Bold, Beautiful, and Brilliantly created. Brava, Chana. Don't know how I missed this!
