Those are cool Andy. I love the vivid colors you have in the color on. But yes the B&W one is nice too.

Thanks Andee. I prefer more the color one for yout baseball shoot as I love the strong contrast with the black background. It makes the baseball and the peanuts really stand out.

All of my photo artwork are done with color and for color, the black and white version is for those who are drawn to black and white. And though they both look magnificent, my personal preference is the color version which shows the artwork in its original form. Not all of my art and photographs come in both color and black and white, only the select few that can be done with an eye for quality and does not compromise the artwork when shown in black and white are given the black and white option, and that's probably only about 1 percent of 1 percent of my body of work W

Yes Andee, for overall artistic flavor, I prefer the grayscale version. Color sometimes distracts from the subject (depending on the subject), where Grayscale allows the mind to go strait to the matter.

While I love color, I have always been drawn to black and white. I guess that is why Ansel Adams has always been one of my favorites. In this particular selection, they both have appeal to me. The black and white has more depth and is more dramatic, while the color has warmth and has a nostalgic romantic feel to it.

Thanks for adding that info Brian
Christine I am drawn to the blue in your color image.
Andrea which of yours is your fave? I am drawn to the BW version.
Roger I like your color one as will. How fun you added color to that instead of removing color.
Carolyn The BW one I am drawn into. The darkness of the record makes more of a pop from that highlight.
Linda I am drawn to the BW of yours as well. A Lovely flora
I just love seeing the BW next to the color version of these thanks to all for your particiapation

With the contrast of the seagull and white sails of the sailboat against the sky I knew right off that I would do a black and white version of this shot. I am a lover of blue so of course I like the color version but I also love the black and white. I think the color is uplifting while the mono I think has deeper emotion.

Hi Andee.......good thread.
With these two, both were political statements, and each lent itself to my purpose, because the b/w is about being odd man out, and the colour one is also about being odd woman out, and the simplicity of the format made the statements so easy to understand.
Happily, the b/w did sell......it's quite decorative and minimal, and I think that's what appealed to my buyer.
This design evolved from an oil painting made long ago...and after learning a bit about process via Picasa, I found a way to re-express myself...which is why I still label them 'painting's...enhanced, just fyi.

A 1951 classic chevy pickup truck. I love this vintage truck because it has a split windshield and awning that gives it such a nostalgic look of days gone by. I can imagine having a summer picnic in the shade of this beauty. I think it's cool to consider that it was on the road long before I was born and it's still going. Gasoline was 25 cents a gallon when this Chevy was new! Regarding the Black and White vs color I like both in this case.

Sorry I am not posting a photograph, but making a point.
Black and white brings the pure details out of the photograph. So you cannot just compare them, as photographs are different. There is no true answer that applies to all.

That is so true Chuck. Some want a certain image and only in BW. Others
like color only and do not like B&W. I happen to like both so I do offer both on some.

I think b/w (gray)conveys a much deeper response, and is more dramatic; but, saying that....this in Blue works too, imo,as an uplifting visage compared to the melancholia of b/w........I'm enjoying finding through colour many more pleasurable examples for pure complexity via colour, where b/w is what it is, colour changes everything regarding one's response, depending on the colour.

I have sold one of each of these the larger on of the color version. I like them both. I just love
this fountain. Seeing it meant we were almost to the dentist and to get a new pair of good shoe
I hope anyone else that wishes to add something will do it soon as this on closes in a few hours.
I have enjoyed seeing everyone's work!
