Stand Alone Shopping Cart Needs Background Color Options

It is quite disappointing that the shopping cart widget has no option to set the background color.

As it is right now, I have to create a large background image so I can have the background color of my choice (yup - the background image doesn't tile). But that only covers the overview page. As soon as I click on a thumbnail the background is set to white again. This seems to be a really odd choice. I've seen several posts about this, yet no solution or answer that would be somewhat satisfying. Technically that's an easy fix and it seems strange that this has not been addressed.

I would like to see:
1) Background color option (hex numbers) that also works for the individual image view.
2) Option to tile the background image so users can use small files. Also here it should work for the individual image view.
3) Advanced option where I could write my own style instructions
