My First Post With The New Linkedin Blog Platform

Have any of you posted on the new Linkedin blogging feature? If so, what are your thoughts, how is it working for you?

Here is my first post for those of you who've not seen this feature:

That's excellent Frank, looks very professional. I've been debating on where or not to start my own. LinkedIn is a great site, very professional orientated so the content needs to reflect that. Your blogs contents, IMO is a perfect fit.

Cheers, Barbara

Thanks Barbara. The interesting thing is with this I have a built in audience, as I understand it goes right into my connections ( followers ) notifications.

Frank, would you mind giving us a quick "how to set this up and get started" tutorial? I know it would sure save me a lot of reading and stress...:-))

You are so good at getting to the point without a lot of filling, which is much appreciated.

Cheers, Barbara

Here is a great article thought I'd share:

Frank, you inspired me to work on my LinkedIn profile today...

But I didn't see an option for blogging. Is that only available for premium members?

April - Glad to hear! It's all about helping each other make it through life.

When the publishing platform was first announced I applied for it. It then showed up a few weeks later. In the status bar at the top of your Linked feed you'll see a pencil icon ... that is how you know you have it. Look at the link I provided in my last post, toward the bottom of that article is how to apply for the publishing platform.

Hope this information is helpful to you.

By the way, change your URL so you don't have all those numbers at the end: https://help.linkedin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/87/kw/change+url

I may look into the publishing platform another time. I'm not sure if my blogging style is appropriate for LinkedIn.

7 Key Elements to a Successful Blog Post on LinkedIn:

One of the great benefits of publishing on LinkedIn is that all of your connections and followers will get notified in the little gray flag on the top right of their profile that you have posted a new publication with the title (one of the reasons why the title is critical, it is what will pull them in).

Sydne,

What a great article. I have not much to brag about on Linkedin, so I won't try.

I know of some who loves to make $200k per year selling medical equipment....etc
He jumps ship if the pay might drop, or the time he got divorced and did not want to
declare a lot of income. He lies like a rug on his Linkedin page No employer would
ever know there were a few two year gaps where he drank and drugged like a fish in
a desert surrounded by mushrooms. All is well.

His select friends cover for his employment gaps.

I guess that is the other end of the spectrum when comparing Sydne's funny article.
Some resumes are perfectly.......fake......

Boy is that article well written, Sydne. There is much truth to that ... I must get a couple dozen invites to connect everyday, and only accept about one or two.

Your share made me thing of this article, check it out... ....
