As many of you know, I have had a few things happen recently that have not been very nice.
I wanted to share the new thing that IS nice, to sort of counterbalance it
Please say hello to Darcy and Hannah, the new additions to the Shores/Muirhead household
They are nearly 6 weeks old They have lived with us now for one day and have already puppy trained us.

If their faces represent their personalities your going a handful with Hannah..

Absolutely positively cute, cute, cute!!! Congratulations on the new additions -- may you have many happy times with them (and don't lose too many shoes)!!!!!!! We had a German Shepherd that chewed a hole through the paneling on the wall, the linoleum on the floor and the corner of the bottom step of the foyer!!! Loved him to death for as long as we had him ... you've got lots of good times ahead ... enjoy!

Good training Abbie! You sound as informed as my friend who has a degree in horse management (manages three horses on an estate, one of them is hers along with a day job) and owned collies all her life. She is a stickler for using the right procedures when it comes to her dog and horses. I learned a lot about dog care (and horses!) when she stayed with me for five months. Because of good training Knight, her dog, was a joy to have around. I'm sure it is the same with your dogs even though they are young and make more mistakes friends won't avoid you because of dogs with bad behavior! lol

Thanks Sue. Yes, I think it is far harder on us humans. She is so bouncy and such a mischievous puppy.
Thanks Mary Ellen!
:) Suzanne, I was trained by one of the best, a retired RAF dog handler turned dog trainer. Awesome man. They are still a bit unruly with excitement but Darcy has grown up so much this week.
I have a wonderful online support network. Their facebook page likes has soared. I don't feel so alone with it all :)

ok, Abbie, forgive me if I'm stepping out of line. I don't want to embarrass you but I do want to point out to people that you need some financial help.
We have all faced the crisis where our budget shortfalls have dire consequences, and we have to ask for help. This family has been devastated by this accident and Hannah's well being is impacted by cost beyond their means.
Please, if you can, remember when it was you on the desperate side and send a buck or two to help out Abbie and Hannah. Let's put some Christmas miracles in play and help God out. You can be a savior of the world.

Abbie I just saw this and am so sorry to here about Hannah. I got my new puppy about the time you got your babies and I can only imagine how you must feel. You are so lucky to have saved her! My heart goes out to all of you.

Hannah has her trolly and Darcy has his igloo! Does this mean Darcy will be splitting his time between the stool and the igloo? Good to hear Hannah can now put her foot down, well don't most women like to do that?!

LOL
He tried to get in it again this evening. So did she, so I think the whole thing was a fantastic hit.

Oh to be small and fit in those kinds of places! I think I can remember now when I was young liking to get into small spaces, I would have tried to fit in it too. Hannah should be getting a lot of attention riding in her trolly, women like that!

Enjoyed seeing Hannah and Darcy play. Glad she is healing! Darcy seems to play very nicely with Hannah allowing her to tug and stretch the poor toy when it is in his mouth, without jerking it away from her and running off with it, which he appears to have the strength to do. He also allows her to keep the toy in her mouth when he could take it away from her and plays along allowing her to keep tugging without taking possession of it.

Just to let friends of the puppies know that we found out today, after a biopsy two days ago, Mr Darcy has cancerous tumours. He is only 11 months old so this is quite unusual.
He will be operated on next Thursday by John at RT Jones vets in the village.
Please keep everything crossed for him
Thank you xx
Oh, my, Abbie. It just never ends for you. I hope they can safely remove all the tumors and he can get well. So sorry you keep having to go through this.
Not quite what we expected from these puppies. To date she nearly lost her life twice, one major operation. He has had two operations because of a minor cut that got severely infected (they think the item that cut him was very filthy) and the day he got his bandage off finally, this.
They have been through the mill that's for sure. But you cannot forecast the future and we would still have them even if we could. They are such soppy affectionate pups.
Can't stop my eyes leaking right now though.

Oh, sweetheart ... oh no ... I'm so so sorry that you all are having to go through this. For heaven's sakes. Bless you all. Now, go wipe your eyes. Chins up. The pups need you strong ... things will go well ... the tumors will be removed and everything will be smooth sailing.
oh no, I am so sorry. well, look you don't know what is going to happen, just remember that. I agree with Lois, be strong for them.
everything's crossed xx

Wishing you all the best, Abby! Fingers an toes crossed, I hope all gets well soon for the puppies and for you!

Oh Abbie, just saw this thread. So sorry on top of everything else you now have this to deal with. Our furry friends are our family and we love them very much. If it is any encouragement at all, our lab also developed a cancerous tumor at 1 year old which is highly unusual for her age. She had the surgery to remove it and she is now over 2 years old and still cancer free :) My prayers are with you and hope the best for Mr Darcy.

You know how much I care.
Now, tell us, Abbie....do you need the collection box reinstated? Don't be shy to say so !
I was thinking about go fund me but I don't know how much it's all going to cost to be honest. Thank you for thinking about that side of things. I can afford the first operation and then...I don't know because I don't know if it will work...
All at sixes and sevens at the moment

I'm sorry to hear about the biopsy results. On an encouraging note, my sister had a dog once who had a large tumor removed from his face. She never heard from the vet about the results so she assumed it was benign. Then much later by chance she saw in his record that it was cancer and they had recommended removal of most of his jaw but the vet had never called her to let her know that. He hadn't had a new growth and it had been a few years since the surgery. He lived to be fairly old for a dog and was healthy for many years. So hopefully, your pup will do well after surgery and not have an ongoing problem.
So very sorry to hear this. I know it wasn't what you had hoped to hear, but he is young and otherwise healthy. So let's hope (and I think it will) work in his favor. All the best to you and Darcy!
