Where Are Yours From?

I always look to see where a new Twitter follower is from. And hope for sales down the road.

I will say that about 70% or more of all of my new followers are from the UK...I do not live

in the UK so you know what I am waiting for... :) But do you pay any attention to where your

followers ar from? Maybe not but I do...If you do, where are most of yours from, your country

or from another country? My main blog in hosted in the UK so I am sure that is how mine are UK

You have a lot of cool work that would serve you well by doing that. Do you feel they

come in from Twitter for sales?I have for on LTP I had once. I do not have work very

much work from one ars to target a certain area. I have only a little bit of KC art. And

sold a few pics of it. But time will tell. I hope on day to acquire more to offer if I am

able if not what I have...KC wise will have to do.

I have yet to Twitter.
Not to go too far off track from your OP Andee , but when you join - how do you target for people/areas of your interest ?

( I might be off line for a bit - tree guys in the area - & my service is now intermittent.)

Lovely new avatar Joann.

I don't even know how to read my tweets. I see them when I log on to my personal computer, but I don't think they are turned on on my i-phone. Nor would I want them to be. I think that would be annoying to have another "cache" to clear out.

But I'm kind of technology stupid.....

Hi, Andee,

I've picked up a lot of UK and other international followers, too. When I tweet (which is rare, these days), I make it a point to tweet during prime 'day' hours, both here and abroad.

Insomnia is handy for things like that!

@Janine -- Hey! :-)

One of the first things I did after signing up was to search terms like: San Antonio, Austin, South Texas, etc., then choose people/businesses that I wanted to follow. Many of them have followed back. I also searched for interior decorators and designers, and a few other specific designations.

I've slacked off Twitter in 2014, so have lost some traffic. Time to do those things all over again and get active!

@Mary -- One too many caches . . . I feel your pain.

I'm sick to death of social media, and plan to pare my activity down to three social sites, outside of YouTube -- then focus in on them like a laser!

Haven't decided which three, yet.

Janine you are fine for that Q...You need to add the # sign...AKA...(hashtag) in front of the word

you are trying to get noticed and when folks serch that can come up. For example it is New

York you want seen...If I am correct and if not someone will say.... it would look like this

#NewYork then you would also have the link for the art that is based off that hashtag.

Andee, I did just what Wendy did. I look for hashtags and users with boston and New England and follow them. Also look up area businesses and follow and hope they follow back. You with food and guitars could search those terms or follow musicians, bakeries, nightclubs, etc... I think Mke wrote some tips to tweeting a ways back and I pretty much followed what he said.

My biggest problem is not tweeting during the "right times". I'll tweet a couple during the day but most of my marketing gets done between 11pm and 4am. I try to buffer but not sure if that's working? Do you use buffer?

Edit: I forgot u asked about sales. I have stat counter installed on my http://www.bostonartphotography.com site and each photo there is linked to its corresponding page on my aw. I see that I get a lot of hits from twitter there. Whether I get sales, not sure. But I have had a couple people call about licensing that saw my work on twitter.

I have but not sure what is a good time to do it per art to target. I have had some

musician follow me. Some Beatles fans follow me. I tried to follow a ton of hotels

at first that was a bust then I unfollowed a ton of those as I had more follow than

followers and Twitter is picky about that. But the funny thing is now that I unfollowed

those I am having hotels follow me So I follow those back...lol just never know. I do

the free version of Buffer. I had had one person on TV follow me that was cool!

I made sure to follow them back!

Yea hotels are hard to get followed by. I've got a few and only b/c I has tagged them daily at one point...lol

I only had them recently follow me after I unfollowed all I followed to make room for others I

could follow...so maybe that is a sign that they are redecorating or opening new hotels.

My followers are mostly local people and FAA people. I upload my images there but hardly ever go to Twitter. I'm not a fan of that site.

Andee and Joann, I like your new avatars.

Thanks Janice. I was going through an identity crises for a while after the announcement for bigger pics. The one I was using wasn't big enough so had to go through the files:)

Thanks Janice. You just have to keep with it. Like medicine for a cause...
