I do not use a Head shot so why would I want to add a larger one?

I do know that the avatar replacement is larger now and shows a

full page and not those 3 sizes like it use to, the files size is larger....I think.

Yea, I just read that email. Decided to come right here to see if anyone posted about it. lol Hmmm makes me wonder. FYI, I hate my pic taken to begin with, now I must upload a larger shot. :P

The one up now is bad enough - and you want a bigger one - I'll tell you what - IF I sell 10 of my digital abstracts any size - I will certainly entertain having a bigger head - rather than a "beggar" head.

Up to you all entirely. However, you will feel daft with pixellated images if you keep em tiny and they are shown larger

So we just need larger image of what we do use, not that we have to show our faces now.

Maybe I could do an up to date "selfie" - I hate to break a camera though.

Just received it; don't think I like it. I hate having my image there as it it. I guess I can go with art piece instead.

The email came from FAA, it might be from one of their newsletter mailing campaigns which I think can be turned off in your account so you might not get it if you have that turned off. Or maybe it's just making it's rounds and you will get your email soon. Or it may be trapped in your junkmail box.

I have no desire to see a larger version of my avatar. I would like to see larger thumbs on the AW pages, however.

I have no idea where the original file is so if the existing avatar needs to be replaced I'll need to choose a different image.

No email here yet. Funny, I just checked here on my headshot and it says it's 0 x 0 pixels....that's sorta like a blank image....right?! But....I still have a head with a daisy attached to it, lol!

I have days like that too where I feel like I'm 0 x 0 pixels. :-)

BTW I keep getting emails notifying me of posts to this discussion but I haven't asked to be notified.

I guess if your headshot/avatar is larger than 600 x 600 already you won't get the e-mail. I did not receive one but the image is already larger than that.

edit to add: looks like Mike is going to need to grow more hare.

they are all so creative like going to a masquerade every month.

cinco de miko however can be celebrated all month long.

as far as sales, certain ones and certain colors do seem to attract more eyes. this one is experimental, because its sort of bondagy looking.... it all depends on people knowing what a masked wrestler is. i have another one in waiting, and i know what halloween will be, but i don't have to play with that for a while.

What has always been consistent, is the avatar's you do use also as an artist/photographer reveal your technique as a creative individual.

i'm getting a mighty collection of them too. right now i have 28 avatars. and 40 variations of hidden mikes, while its not up the los dias meurtos, has like 5 mike's in it, i went a little overboard.

Mike if I am not mistaken of all your avatars aren't there a few which actually sold to customers, the steampunk image the guy with the tall hat, doesn't that sell and its also a avatar,

I have been reading the discussions on this, but didn't know for sure how soon we had to make the change. So I went to my Behind the Scenes and saw the notification that we could do it anytime now.

The only hard part was trying to find a new image to use. I am always behind the camera, so I will try this one for awhile.

my self portraits aren't avatars though i did oddly sell that one as a 36" print. i've sold others that had my face in the background. some hidden, others not so much. i'm kind of blatant in some.

@mel - try going to a house of mirrors and getting a selfie there, that should be interesting.

Mel, that is a beautiful avatar, and its the perfect companion avatar for your gallery, wow, how nice.

Another hunch came to mind, what if the new feature for the bio photo is somehow, someone among all the members here will also be featured, a computer generated random selection in order to do that and a personal photo to go along with the recognition, we also needed the larger image.....

One week down, this thing can show up any day now! -W

Blush blush... I had my mug up the first year or so, then I decided to make it a logo that I had used a few years earlier for other things and to use it as branding for marketing and hopefully recognition purposes. -W

Yup, the dan ball cap look. My first choice was a sombrero but I'd have to wait until September for my birthday to get one from Chevy's, and also didn't want to get into all that copyright issues in case someone else had that look already? ;-) Dan's ball cap look is ok, he doesn't care about copyright issues, he encourages it.
