Hello, Julie! The short version of the advice you'll get since I'm heading to work --

1.) Be active on FAA in groups, contests and discussions.
2.) The more images you can upload, the better.
3.) Listen to the forum members who give advice. Most of us give great advice.
4.) But not all of us give great advice!

Welcome! My advice to newbies is that just about every question you can imagine has been answered at one time or another. Get to know the discussion search feature. Read though the basics and jump into the pool feet first.

Welcome Julie!

When posting images be sur to use the keyword and description fields for each image. Setup some default pricing so people can buy prints unless the goal is just to sell digital files directly to the consumer.

When taking or posting files, think about weather or not you would buy a print if it to hang on your wall. Also zoom in on the digital files before uploading to see how sharp they are. The sharper the better.

Aside from that look at all the behind the scenes tools and search the forums for info on just about anything else!

Welcome, Julie. I'm pretty much a newbie, too.

Join groups - ones that fit your niche or a subject or that have the highest number of members or most activity - or some of each. Participate in those groups.

Pay attention to pricing - how it works.

Comment on images. If you comment on mine, I'm likely to look at yours! (just as an example - and Richard obviously has looked at yours) I believe comments are open to the public, so if you have a critique or question, ask it privately.

Have fun! Meet new people. Check out how many people you never heard of are on here from your home town/area! :-) That was an eye-opener for me!

Carol
