Do you share work in progress shots? or do you prefer to keep the process and effort behind the curtain? Not sure how this would apply to photographers.
I like to share the process. People seem to enjoy watching how a painting emerges. Maybe it is just my art teacher background that makes me want to share the process? I have been asked if prints are available before the painting is even done. However, I have been selling prints less than a month here, so I don't know if it will really translate into sales.
Elizabeth, I don't post my works in progress here however sometimes I post it on my Flickr and Facebook account for the people follow me there. Some of my watercolor/paper cut would need the work in process photos to explain how it was done.
My thread has a bunch of my WIP shots .
http://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=1331018 I love the process and many of my followers have asked I continue to share the process. I just started doing WIP videos as well beautiful work Elizabeth.
I sometimes share my WIP's on FB but not here so much. I may have done it here a long time ago here. I show from sketch to canvas through several paintings sessions to completion.
Yes, I have a couple WIPs in my FAA profile. I've shared them in the link Abbie posted above. I also share them on my facebook. My newest piece "Bayan Tree Lahaina Maui" was followed by its new owner. The painting should arrive in Charlotte North Carolina today. Showing work in progress paintings is a great way to sell them.
