Game: One Good Thing.

The idea behind this thread is to introduce strangers and the "one good thing" around them.

Post the city you belong to, and "one good thing" about it. This can be anything, from a restaurant, public place, hospitality of the people, natural sights etc.

My City: Islamabad,
One Good Thing: My city is surrounded by mountains called the Marhallah Hills. It's an absolutely beautiful backdrop for the city's architecture and outlook. The effect is amplified every time it rains and leaves the grass and trees shining lush green.

I live in Manchester, UK

The beauty of Manchester is the architecture. We have modern and original gothic. Absolutely beautiful and most of my time in the city is spent visiting our library and museums (of which we have several fabulous ones)

We also have one of the best universities in the world here and that shows in the stores as they are truly global

PLUS, we have there one of the best Chinatowns in England :)

I live at Lagoon Point on Whidbey Island and one good thing is that we have canals that lead to our homes...one bad thing is that you have to time your departures/arrivals to the tides.

I live in San Francisco, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. I love hearing all the different languages spoken, especially in our tourist months. In California, wherever you live, you are generally 3+ hours or less from the ocean, the mountains (with and without snow way into June/July in some places), the desert, the vineyards, Hollywood/L.A., the quaint old 'gold rush' towns with wooden sidewalks. Every part of California has its own specialness. I moved here from Boston (another beautiful and unique city) to continue my photography...but because I'm now disabled because of my back, I'm not able to do that....right now I create digital art mostly. But California is a photographer's paradise, and I hope to get back to my photography again some day.

Here's one inspired by the "hip" Haight Ashbury district, or commonly called "The Haight":
