A black and white landscape image created by compositing an image of a bare tree and an image of a cloudy sky. The tree was photographed at Wright Farm in Easton, MA. The clouds were photographed at the Pardon Gray Preserve in Tiverton, RI. The soft luminous quality of the clouds combines nicely with the starkness of the tree combining two separate moments into a cohesive whole.

Here comes Mardi Gras 2014, this flag and now this photo has been seen not by millions but billions and perhaps trillions over the years here in New Orleans, here is Mardi Gras 2014 New Orleans. My new avatar was my Mardi Gras rain gear and a court jester hat along with my fashionable star glasses. And yes if you look real close, since it was Mardi Gras I decided to color all that grey out of my goatee and hair, I look about 40ish.....lol
Rex selected the official Mardi Gras colors in 1872 to honor the visiting Russian Grand Duke Alexis Alexis Alexandrovich Romanoff, whose house colors were purple, green and gold. The 1892 Rex Parade theme "Symbolism of Colors" affirmed the colors' The Meaning and Origin of Purple, Green, and Gold in Mardi Gras
Purple Represents Justice. Green Represents Faith. Gold Represents Power.
This is the traditional flag which is hung from places of business, private home and from the homes of previous Mardi Gras Kings. This photo was taken with a Nikon 820 auto settings My personal blog will be a collection of movies and stills from Mardi Gras 2014 in New Orleans, LA I took a total of over 2,000 plus photos were taken over the course of Mardi Gras....

This remarkable image is the 4th floor ceiling of a mausoleum here in New Orleans. This beautiful place the entire roof is glass and on each floor are glass square which allow natural light to flood the entire building, there are no electric lights located anywhere in the mausoleum, even on a cloudy day because the roof if entire glass and the center of all the floors are glass square it allows natural lighting in the mausoleum.

The first picture was a happy surprise. My husband and son were out of town and I was a little blue and then while sitting in my backyard a couple of dolphins swam by. This happens quite often but the younger of the two dolphins decided to put on a show. For me, the quote was so true today.

Academy Award Winner Diane Ladd one of judges at the annual Stella shouting contest Stella from the famous movie A Street Car Named Desire by playwright Tennessee Williams, held at Jackson Square in New Orleans, Louisiana. When I was a desk clerk concierge, Diane would check into the Time Share hotel I worked at and would assist in making recommendations for her on her return visits to New Orleans and the French Quarter. Diane is also a cousin to the famous novelist who wrote two famous novels here in New Orleans, A St. Car Named Desire and also Cat On A Hot Tin Roof,,,,,,the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival is held each year, and the shouting contest up to the balcony located at Jackson Square concludes the festival week here in New Orleans, Louisiana

This beautiful fine art Indian temple photo shows the extraordinary beauty of Indian architecture.
The rugged beauty of the Himalyan mountains invokes a grand sense of awe.
In this humorous photo, a donkey seems disturbed that he is being watched while he is eating.
The highest and one of the longest mounatin ranges, the Himalayas inspire everyone with their majestic beauty.
The snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas create a sense of beauty and wonder.

~ Cherry Cokes and Root-Beer Floats ~
I guess the era of cherry cokes and root-beer floats, are a thing of the past, it never lasts. A nickel in the jukebox would play your favorite tune, Elvis would croon, the girls would swoon. You'd go to the Drive-In, see a "B" movie, hope for some lovin, it was all groovy. The family would have dinner and watch TV together, it was a connection that inevitably would sever. Dad's favorite chair, Mom cut your hair, we had no idea we could never go back there. Homework was a bore, but you still had the chore, of cleaning your room before you could groom and zoom out of the door even though you were poor. Cruising for chicks because you had no date, explaining later why you were out so late. You needed money to burn and it had to be earned, that was a concern, and a lesson to learn. At the time, you thought you were having it rough, but now we see it wasn't so tough. If we knew then what we know now, we'd surely make it last longer some how. ~Brian Wallace

A painted daisy.. this was an HDR photo I had taken, then painted it in the various colors. There are over 300 different color tones on this item, with the center taking up over 200 separate spots. It took over 100 hours to paint. It was a good first effort with a new Wacom tablet and stylus...

Inspired by the band, Genesis, their album "Wind and Wuthering" and the song "One for the Vine." Pertinent lyrics to this abstract art are found in the entire song, but these in particular:
They traveled 'cross the plateau
Of ice up to its edge
Then they crossed a mountain range
And saw the final plain
Still He urged the people on
Then, on a distant slope
He observed one without hope
Flee back up the mountainside
He thought He recognized Him by His walk
And by the way He fell
And by the way He stood up
And vanished into air...
Listen to the song, follow the lyrics, and do so while looking at this art. Perhaps it will speak to you as it did to me.

Beginning in about 1880, Wurlitzer built a full line of upright and grand pianos. In 1914, Wurlitzer became the sole distributor of Melville Clark Pianos and in 1919 acquired the Melville Clark company. Wurlitzer continued to manufacture pianos at the Clark factory in DeKalb, Illinois under the Melville Clark name. Other brands which have been manufactured by Wurlitzer are Apollo, De Kalb, Julius Bauer, Farney, Kingston, Kurtzman, Merrium. Schaff Bros. and Underwood.[11]
Wurlitzer excelled in piano design. They developed their "Pentagonal Soundboard", "Tone crafted hammers", and other unique innovations to help their pianos produce a richer, fuller tone. In 1935, they were one of the first manufacturers to offer the spinet piano to the mass market. This 39 inch high piano was an instant sensation. The spinet came at an opportune time, when many Americans couldn't afford a full upright or baby grand.

The saying 'The devil is beating his wife' is mostly prominent in the southern part of the United States. That saying applies usually during sunshowers. It is believed that the devil is angry that God created a beautiful day hence the beating of the devil's wife starts the rain.
A sunshower or sun shower is a meteorological phenomenon in which rain falls while the sun is shining. These conditions often lead to the appearance of a rainbow, if the sun is at a low enough angle. Although used in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Britain, the term "sunshower" is rarely found in dictionaries.

This amazing photograph a new series titled The Creole Still Life,,,,this amazing photograph was achieved by using a new energy light blub 40 watt placed above and to the left of the still life. This photograph, was minimal sharpness and is not and I repeat not a digital painting photo. This is an actual photograph..... This is one of the most outstanding photographic of my still life achievements in my 54 years of taking photos. A 40 watt lightbulb...with the correct amber light. created this European master looks like an oil painting.....
The onion and garlic are real, the red and yellow peppers are plastic smiling.

Today I have a couple of 3D stereo anaglyphs which requires Red/Cyan filtered 3D glasses for viewing...
It's not often you see growing trees flat along the ground. This one provides a natural seating area in a section of the community park in Orchard Beach - Pasadena, Maryland.
The proper 3D glasses are inexpensive and can be obtained with an online search. I recommend Rainbow Symphony, or American Paper Optics.

I love my home of Asheville, North Carolina. On any given day, you can find musicians of many kinds standing on the streets, sharing their talents, hoping you might drop a dollar or two in their guitar case. You might hear the blues, mountain music, bluegrass, gospel, country, or almost anything else.
I have created a new style of artwork that involves photography, drawing and sketching, painting, and other "secret ingredients." I hope y'all enjoy the art as I enjoy the music and the awesome place I live.

One of the most wonderful places to take children in the Asheville, North Carolina area is the WNC Nature Center. From farm animals you can pet to mountains lions, wolves, bears, otters, snakes, and birds, there is something for everyone. A beautiful walk in the cool trees includes play areas for kids, too.
