Agree about centimeters as display sizes.

I thought the artist's chose the unit of measure when they uploaded. But then Americans wouldn't understand them.

Great idea. I think there is a suggestion box somewhere. I always assumed there was a choice on metrics like most other sites.

I wonder if it's because of the printer company used, which is based here in the US. Maybe they only deal in inches.

Just guessing...

wouldn't it make more economic sense to print in europe for fine art europe. just from a shipping perspective.

yup.

Same with Canada.

Canada is also a metric country, but all retail frames are still sold with packaging displayed in imperial. It might even be the same in the Europe.

Instead of going to metric, the USA introduced 10ths of an inch (foot). :)

Its just that people need to know what size they are buying and everyone here knows centimeters/milimeters not inches. Also the display is in the " instead of saying inches so people think, wow that is pretty small for a print instead of knowing that it is the abbreviation for inches.

Yes. Most countries in the world use the metric system. That would be a good idea.

"The usage of the metric system varies around the world. According to the US Central Intelligence Agency's Factbook (2007), the International System of Units has been adopted as the official system of weights and measures by all nations in the world except for Burma, Liberia and the United States" (Wikipedia).
