Launch Customshop Site In Gallery View

My customshop link http://fineartamerica.com/customshop/w-chris-fooshee.html works well. However, I would prefer that it open with a view of galleries rather than many pages of unsorted images. Is there any way to default to a gallery view.

Carolyn,
I tried that, and while the frame expanded, the number of rows did not. Additionally, the existing controls wouldn't give me the black background I wanted so I uploaded a 900x900 black image.

I wonder ... at the tail end of the code for the iframe there is a height object for the block at 800px. I wonder if that could be changed and, if so, would that change the number of rows? This is something that I hope to be implementing in a website I am going to be working on, so I'm not set up to try it out yet. Just curious if that would work.

All,

After further research I found and am now using the "Widget #1: Stand Alone Shopping Cart" found at http://fineartamerica.com/controlpanel/widgetmanager.html
It integrates fairly well, though I would like some more control over the various functions, i.e. number of displayed rows. Nonetheless, at the very least, it allows visitors to sort the images by gallery, and has all of the new products.

Feel free to poke around at www.wcfphotographics.com under the Purchase tab.

Not at present. Sorry

There are some other things going on before that could be thought about and it is not on the cards at present

WC,

I had added a "suggsetion" to the "Weekly Suggsetion Box" about Sean adding a few templates to the Artist Web sites, something simple as Zenfolio has, large image and a few thumbnails, which I think would be a great new product for Sean to offer to his Premium members. Your shopping cart would enhance it even more!

I would like to talk this up more and see if enough members got on board, Sean would offer this. I have no experience in web sites and don't know the extant of work involved, but for Sean, I bet it would be a breeze!

I wonder why they are both still on the home page as enticements to sign up for the premium account.

This was a feature that I specifically desired to integrate FAA into my website. The Artist Website doesn't seem to be able to provide the integration and customization I would like.

"We've stopped development on the custom shopping cart. Going forward, it is not going to change to include new products, etc. Everyone is encouraged to use the Artist Websites feature, instead. Sean"

Very disappointing. It was a feature that I think many of us would like to use to keep our websites and the purchasing functions as seamless as possible. While it wasn't perfect it did allow SOME continuity of style.

Okay, I'm a little confused on this. I read Mark's link. Is this the same as the "sell from your own website shopping cart"? Are we talking about two different shopping carts? I looked at the home page for FAA. There are two options there, "Sell From Your Own Website Shopping Cart" and "Create a Custom Shopping Page". Is it the custom shopping page that is no longer able to be used or both?

Pamela,

Thanks for the info! I hope this doesn't mean Sean has given up on giving us artists, a few templates to use on our "artist web sites".......

Rich, if you will look at Marks link you can see where Sean says it is a discontinued feature due to the fact that it would not update with the new products ie metal prints. Too bad, its a nice looking feature.

Mark,

Tried it:

Is this something from Sean, years ago?

Or hopefully, something NEW he's playing with?

Abbie, what's going on here?

I've seen mentions of the custom shop before but never played with it. If you change w-chris-foshee in the link above to your shop name, you'll see a version of it of your own - probably like mine indicating some settings are missing.

It appears to be a dead avenue:

WC,

What are we looking at? IS this a FAA product/website? What is "cutomshop"

If you set it up through FAA...why can't you set your default for Galleries and not Images?

Chris, your pages are filled with amazingly beautiful photographs! Just breathtaking. I think people who visit your website will want to view them all, regardless of what order they're displayed. I'm going back to look at the rest.

What is this "custom shop"

is this something new or old from before i joined?

Im familiar with my AW, and all the shopping cart widgets, but this is the first I have seen a custom shop?
