Butterfly Identification


Today there were a lot of these tiny orange and black butterflies all over the garlic chives in our garden. Anyone know exactly what kind of butterfly this is? They were just about the size of a U.S. Quarter...maybe a bit smaller.

It looks like you are on the East Coast so I think this is an American Copper (Lycaena phlaeas).

doesn't have raggedy edges, looks more like Small Copper ... Usually seen overseas but who knows, maybe they're on vacation lol.

according to my guide i think it's a comma it looks the most like that one.
