Yes indeed -- studying the gradients & resulting fusions is key to parsing the joy of colour ;)
One of my first memories is holding my grandmothers *palm sized cut crystal paperweight, sitting in the sun by her window -- admiring the color refractions. Paradise ....
*adult palm size -- itwas HUGE! Her crystal filled kaleidescope she brought with her from Europe was another treasure...

I still love looking through crystals in the sunlight.
I have the 'rainbow room' here -- our birds' room -- windows filled with crystals -- faces east :) Slightest movement of air creates cascades of rainbows on the walls...
