Let me take this opportunity to say I am thankful for every participating member of this group. You do me such an honor by not only choosing to join this group, but by offering up your talents, insight and supportive comments to myself and others here.
In the short time that this group has been a part of FAA, I have met and come to appreciate several people who have made my experience here that much more enjoyable. So without further ado, I would like to thank the following people:
Kay Novy, for being a dedicated supporter of my work and fastidious contributor to the group.
HW Kateley, for his wisdom and guidance in the beginning process of creating this group and his continued support throughout.
Richard Johnson, for his genuine enthusiasm for not only my work but the work of others and the time he takes to express that interest via comments, votes and regular visits.
Miriam Danar, Margaret Saheed and Pascale Gervais for being regular contributors and for helping me further the group by offering suggestions and ideas.
Robert Riordan, for being the first to join and submit images AND comment in the discussion thread.
As corny as it sounds, this group is made possible by people like you, and I can't thank you enough for the time you have offered to spend here. :)

Melissa, Kay, Patricia and Lingfai... you are all very welcome! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the time you put into your craft and the beautiful images that come from it. And the fact that you choose to share those images with the group is an honor I scarcely know how to relate. Fantastic work everyone!

Cassondra, thank you so much for starting this group. It is my favorite. I love seeing all the beautiful photos taken with our little "point and shoot" cameras and an artful eye. The comments are so uplifting and encouraging too. I especially want to say how honored I am that you've featured my photos and "Favorite of the Week"...really??? I'm THRILLED!

You're welcome Kay! :)
Marcia, I get a lot of images I have to review every week, and sometimes I see one or two that to me need more than just a feature. These are the types of photos that stop me dead in my tracks and make me say "WOW". A friend of mine who also has a group calls these types of images his "Spotlight Features", and he displays them very proudly in a large form on the home page of his group, so that's what I decided to do here as well. I'm partial to clouds as it is (I'm a weather spotter and study meteorology), but that one just took the cake! Thanks for submitting your fabulous photos to the group! :)

Thanks for the feature. I had my Nikon D700 with me when I took this photo (I work part-time as a freelance writer and photographer), but I love the Nikon Coolpix P7000 for its extreme wide-angle reach as well as its macro capabilities and used it for this photo as well as about 50% of those that I took of the Barnegat Lighthouse in New Jersey. So happy you like the image! I think it may be my favorite of all those I took of that lighthouse. I've licensed it several times as stock - you don't always need a pro camera to sell your images as the fine work in this group attests.

Melissa, Marianne, Patricia and Lingfai, you all very welcome and very deserving of features! We are blessed beyond measure to have your talents amongst this group, and I thank you very much for your participation!
Patricia, "Taxing sport" is an understatement, lol. When I went to the photo blitz for the Horicon Marsh the other weekend, I nearly got carried away by the mosquitoes that came out at dusk. Still have the bite marks all over my ankles to prove it. Oh well, just a few more battle scars, right? ;)

Bumping this up so those who wish to leave a note of thanks for a feature can utilize it. We're starting to get quite the collection of "thank you" threads, and as much as I love hearing back from you all I need to start cleaning them out so the active threads don't get lost in the shuffle.
Thanks for understanding!

In just over a month this group has become a very fine collaborative effort between many talented photographers. It is a joy to see the new images come through every day and watch people donate a little bit of their time to promoting the works of others. I am quite convinced there is a not a better group on individuals in all of FAA. So glad you could join us Joan, and you are very welcome for the feature!

By far the person I want to most thank is the one who dedicates their time to this group, and that would be you Cassondra, I've only recently joined FineartAmerica, I've joined various groups, but none have welcomed me in as much as this group and in particular Cassondra, even though it's a large group (and growing) it's still all very close and personal, you open up the portal for interaction with other artists, and have truly given credit to the photography that can be made with a non-DSLR proving you don't need to put a large amount of money into the equipment, just a large amount of passion.
No one should ever be ashamed about standing beside a top of the range DSLR wielding photographer with a little compact point and shoot because just as amazing images can be captured, whatever you're hitting the shutter with or on, it's about knowing your tools and this group is perfect for that.
The amazing studio quality of Cassondra's snow bench image speaks leaps and bounds about non-DSLR photography.

:) Don't know what to say Louise. This was a great note to wake up to this morning. Thank you!!
And I love your comment about not being ashamed to shoot right along side the "pros". I've often felt paled by comparison and have indeed heard a chuckle or two when I mentioned being a photographer while holding my little pink point-and-shoot. But I look at this way; if someone told you they were an artist and all they were holding was a pencil, would you laugh at them?

Hello everyone! I must apologize once again for my sparse participation... hoping to make up for that a bit this weekend. Seems like every time you get one thing straightened out, another pops up. Best to just roll with it and enjoy the good when it comes your way!
Fantastic work everyone... your features are so well deserved. :)

I'd like to use this thread to say a personal "THANK YOU" to Cassondra for the amazing job she has done with this group! (sent via email also)
Dear Cassie,
Well, I knew this day would come, but I'm very sad to see you leave as administrator, given the fantastic job you have done with this group. As I've said in the past, it is my favorite group. I understand your need to relinquish that responsibility and respect it, totally. It can't be easy for you to step down...this was your baby after all:) My hope is that we will find someone as passionate as you are. The good news is that we won't be losing you entirely. Looking forward to seeing your wonderful images. Thanks for all your support and wonderful comments.
Best always,
Marcia

Marcia said it well. This is my favorite group, also, and I'm already looking for another one. Thanks so much Cassie for the fabulous job you did here!! Look forward to seeing your new images, too. Keep 'em coming!

Cassie.. you have brought a lot of wonderful people together in this group. We all fully understand the limits of being so involved with work and all the other obligations in life ...For sure, you've set the standard very high for doing such an outstanding job as group administrator.

I agree with all the sentiments already expressed above about you and your leaving the role of admin for this group. I can't help but feel that there may be some way that you could continue by possibly sharing this role with someone else? Is that possible?
Thanks again for doing such an amazing job......you will be an extremely hard act to follow! :-)
Good luck with whatever it is that your choose or decide upon re this group and your future needs. May the Force be with you now and always!
