Inovetion I Cannot Be Sacrifice.

Posted by: Sandilya Debjay on 11/07/2009 - 11:23 AM

An artist paints for the world to render pleasure to the lovers of painting but not for self_satisfiction only.this the truth .but not as a whole.because any inovition keeps a hidden disire for pleasure ,fame and satisfection by self ,or through the others.this is the universal truth.

I do it purely for myself. If i had to do it for others I wouldnt bother doing it at all.

I am in lock step with Beth on this.

For me it's like cooking... although I usually get to enjoy it too, I get the most pleasure from the appreciation of others, especially when it's my own personal recipe.
And sometimes I make something just for myself. With dessert. ;)

It's my language .

It's what I say (heather put it well)
I don't say things to please others, I don't try to upset them, I merely have things to say, some may like it some may not.
I don't go around saying nice things just to make others happy and like me and at the same time be unhappy myself. You may do this on rare occasion but to do it all the time... whats the point.

No. I paint because I feel something, I can't feel something for another and pretend to understand them, I have enough problems trying to understand myself. So I paint and being a human my work will resonate with another human someplace as we are not all that different and as a result they can enjoy my work.

I feel essentially that I create artwork out of an excitement with the subject, an interest, a need to explore. That's essentially why most people do anything (with a few exceptions), one can always plaster supposed noble reasons for doing a work but I believe that's largely marketing and pretending that one did not do it primarily for oneself, or if not for one self then I did it as a means to communicate an idea that's in my head.

I paint what I like, and the style I like, but at the end of the day, (when the painting is complete) I really hope others will like it. And if someone likes it well enough to pay their hard earned dollars for it, - that is a great feeling of satisfaction. I believe there is no greater compliment and encouragement than to have someone purchase a painting.

I don't know Gene.
I remember way back when my friends and I dought a CB radio off an annoying CB er. we put it in front of the car tire and drove over it. Here's hopping they never do that with my art.:)

For me, it's a mixture of well-being and self satisfaction. Yet, it keeps changing like the weather.

Been doing it for a while now and I find I go through periods when I feel I must delve deep for reasons and other times when I am quite happy just being fully involved and letting the wordy frosting get slathered on by other folks as they feel driven to do.

These days I just do it.

The Universe will find a reason if it deems it necessary.

I know I paint to feel whole, painting fills a void in me. Right in the middle down deep. Much of the time its not the image I create, its the act of creating. And if someone likes it great. If not I'll just put a curse on them. "just kidding....."
