Okay, so I love puzzles and games and the other day I was reading the discussions about copyrights, etc. And I noticed Mike Savad talked about hiding his name and/or picture in his work. So, I went to his gallery and started looking at a few of his images and playing "Where's Waldo!?" or in this case, "Where's Mike?" Anyway, I've hidden my copyrights in some of my art... here's a few pieces. Share of few of yours so I can try to find your hidden name, face or copyright. Thanks!
Mike, I love how you find ways to put your picture in your work. My favorites are the eggs and electrical panel, although I'm kinda partial to the blimp where you have your Class A uniform on and look like the captain of the ship! =)
OMG, obedience and compliance is hysterical!! Love the "U suck" and the drawn in mustache and glasses... tho the wording on the hanging sign is a bit messed up... did you do that on purpose? you repeated "HAVE A" on "you must have a have a nice day" I love it though... resistance is futile! If I had any money, it would be on my purchase list!!!!
i've been correcting dozens of works to keep up with the prevention of printing fails. cleaning noise fixing colors while i'm at it. i think i did 50 so far in like 4 days. it's just another. i brightened it a bit as well. it's a simple fix, i've spelled words wrong only to figure it out after it was all made.
the newspaper article in the upper left i spelled circumference wrong and that was a pain to shape the letters back.
and on themes
this one would be the original article that i made after i made the other one.
Shame its hard to read them on here with the security boxes... half a message at a time. Still in all, love your style!
So Mike... do you actually have a curly mustache? Or is that just for show for your art? My roommate wants to know. Also do you have to shave it off once a year for your fit test? LOL
(We've got our 100th year anniversary coming up this month. Not really looking forward to getting back into my Class A uniform again, but at least it shouldn't be for long and we'll be getting some new shirts.)
Sorry for that tangent... back to art. I really love the Box of Curiosities! I gotta go favorite that one too.
nope. i don't like hair. and the maintenance. when my hair gets long enough to comb, it's cut. i made up the logo as a joke mostly.
added a mustache, hair, suit. the rest is me and a gold background. that's my normal look, if you can imagine a tshirt and no stache. and just plain hair. i think there's a shot of me on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/mike.savad it's at the bottom, below the halloween costumes. the picture is about 5 years old, but i don't age much. the picture above - steampunk mike, was from this year.
Yeah... hair can definitely be a nuisance! My pic is about 5 years old, too... so I probably do look 100 about now. Sometimes I feel it. But of course I was referring to my FD (Pine Brook). You definitely have the NJ sense of humor. Never lose that wit or sarcasm!
I see you make some stained glass items too. I used to be on Riverdale Fire Department (NJ) as a junior when I was 16 (too many years ago... let's not go there) with a guy who made stained glass... I still have a box he put together with dark green sides and an etched unicorn in the clear lid. I'm surprised how well its lasted all these years.
as long as you don't drop it, that stuff will last forever. i still have pieces that are well over 20 years old. (i learned it when i was 9) haven't done it lately, i just don't have the space or the time to mess with it. ironic since i wanted to work with it more when i was working. now i'm technically free, but i don't give myself the time to do the experiments i wanted to do.
