I have a question for all underwater photographer.
All of my picture are taken with an olympus TG-1 and its underwtare case. I have not yet an external flash or strobe. What do you suggest me to buy?
At the moment I use just the internal flash and a red filter when I am on the blue.
thank you for your suggestions!

Hi Roberta,
It would be great to meet a fellow FAA artist in person! I am with "Octopus Divers", Sabang Beach, Puerto Galera, on the island Mindoro. If you need any help or information about diving in the Philippines, don´t hesitate to send me an e-mail.

NIce ones David, I found it was actually harder to take photos in a tank then being underwater. The glare and color balance are hard to sort out. The second shot above is especially nice.

Wow, amazing pictures Jean Noren! Thank you!
Yes I agree with you, anemones give to clow fishes a nice back ground. transparency, white and bright coulours and shadows make clown fishes pictures very special!

Roberta... no one else mentioned it, but if you want to sell these, get rid of the date stamp on the right side of all of them.

Very nice videao, thank you Duane!
yes, sea life is so beauty that underwater photo could be just great!
You know? you don't really need to have very expensive equipments. Of course with certains equipements and big expirience you can make fantastic pictures but you can made amazing pictures just with basique equipements!
My pictures that I have posted are taken with a basique water proof camera with an additional water proof case. No external flash or strobes.
You need to chose very bright colored subjects (like nudibranches) but often these subjets are very little ( few cm) and hard to see.
This is the most difficulty I have while diving : to see the little subjects and to take the right photo.
I tried to make a picture of a pigmy horse, i will share this picture when I will come back from Ivory Cost to show you this amazing little creature!

You're welcome Roberta ;)
BTW, your photos look great as does all the photos here.
I always wanted to take underwater macro/stereo photos of the many wonderful critters and their environment on the coral reef when I lived in the Keys -- but I never could find the equipment or the money to do it. Perhaps one day maybe...
Anyway, if you like underwater videos check out this link: www.wimp.com/amazingcreatures

Roberta -- to post your images into any blog, just go to the image on your site and copy (cntrl+C) the image link just above the "PDF Sales Sheet" link in the lower right side of the page and paste it with whatever you want to say into the blog. You have to use the keyboard copy option because the FAA site uses a java script that prevents a right-click mouse copy.

Hi Meredith! thank you! Your photo are very nice! I am happy to see that other people like sea life like me. You can made amazing photo also just by snorkeling. most of amazng subjets are close to the surface where coulours are bright!

Never got into underwater photography, always felt that to do it right it would be too expensive.
I have done Egypt, great diving!
For me the most memorable things from my diving trips were manta rays on Yap and seeing a whale shark in Kenya.

Unfortunately my underwater photography (and scuba-diving) ceased when I moved from the tropics. Somehow the North Sea (full of... I shudder to think what) doesn't hold the same pull as the South China Sea. Swimming with Sun Fish was probably the highlight of many memorable dives.

Hi jason, thank you for your message!
this nudibranch was at about 10-15 meters underwater in Borneo. so not so deep.
I have used internal flash for this picture and for some of other picture at 20-30 mt I used a red filter plus the internal flash.
Egypt is a wanderfull place to make some picture. you can see amazing subject quite at the surface where you don't need to add external flash.
So, you don't need to go too deep!

Just beautiful!! Ive only been snorkeling, wish i could go scuba, but i cant actually swim that well and get severe asthma so diving down a few meters is enough for me lol, enjoyed it a few times but i just remeber the constant current sweeeping u meteres back and forth and the colours seemed washed out from the fish...but how far down do u need to go to get these amazing photographs?? The colours and sharpness are really good, we tried underwater phtography and hoped to go to the red sea when Egypt calmed down a bit. do u have extra lighting equipment? is it just a flash or normal lighting in bright sunlight?
