What if it were my last post? What would I want to leave... billions of years before my beginning, billions of years after my end, 97% of human history lost, what of me can I hope to leave? What do I have to give? I'll give a whisper to the wind, a sigh, a last breadth, I'll paint a fading song for a new generation.

And if all that goes to shite, I'll give my corpse to cosmetic surgeons in need of practice and finally get a friggin face lift. Ha!

LAST!!! (for a few minutes)

Top of the morning to everyone, its 2:28 am New Orleans, Louisiana time. I am off from work for the summer from the university were I am employed. I am not tired yet, enjoying some of the great threads posted today and this evening and morning.

Hello Jane, Mario, Denise, Erica, JL, Julie and Kasia, and Abbie,

Thank you Mario for the generous comment, I appreciate that, and right back at you. Its been a pleasure to view your accomplished and masterful gallery, I have noticed a personal signature with your original work, the subject and technique is very revealing. I have also noticed something unique, some of your work does have a art nouveau period appeal to it. I will be visiting your gallery again soon.

Everyone have a great day tomorrow.

Could you please explain what "soliciting" mean? I googled it of course, but somehow can't understand what people mean when they invite you to participate in a contest and say no soliciting. Thanks in advance!

Mario Labonte

It seems they perhaps didn't specify any soliciting examples, so I can only assume they meant not to approach contest members trying to sell them your art?
Kind of strange indeed...Maybe a lot of people on here do this sort of thing, I don't know since I am new here...

Hi Michael, I hope you can join Karyn and Jaxine and me in Arizona next year. We have so much to take about, we will set fire to the air. Your adventures sound like so much fun! I hope we get that show here in Hawaii. My son will be along too.

By the way, I believe Jaxine last said she has some big shows coming up. She is always active in setting them up. Karyn might be involved, too, since they both live in the area.

Hello Mary, the new episode "Zoo" airs June 30th CBS....I am sure it will be seen in Hawaii.....we were just talking about open casting rush call, can believe I just got notice to appear in another series TV production as a cop, I am on stand-by I have a cop image, I may have to shave my goatee I will need to be on the set in 2/1/2 hours....I do not know were until I am notified......

Mary, as I had mentioned I had been telling my friends I wanted to do a trip this summer in that region, there has been so many new photos coming from that region, the canyons and gorges.....stunning photography. Funny, there had been talk before by other a Fine Art America convention of sorts or gathering of photographers. Lol, I do not think we would set fire to the air, I have been told it hot as hell certain times of the year...lol......have to go and check my email....see if I was confirmed.....they are requesting rush call for new faces on this particular set. I have not been on that set yet. Keep your fingers crossed....hopefully the location is fairly close.....downtown or the French quarter, regardless I will make it to the set if selected.

(Update) casting call had been filled.....I had left the coffee shop to go down the street and pick up lunch for the owner, and did not take my phone darn it, I do like my new android as long as it is on my person.....lol... anyway, the salad was great!

Cheers, Michael Hoard, Principal Actor, Artist and Photographer

Jaxine, Mary, Carlyn, wooooooooo hooooooooo. I recently submitted to attend a 48 hour film workshop to take place outside of New Orleans in July. Tonight I opened my email and the casting director has sent me two scripts to "cold line or memorize audition or both" this Saturday. for a screen test as Principal Actor to audition for the actual filming of the production during the 48 hour film workshop.

I was sent two scripts a scene husband and wife in the living room interacting, the husband busy watching TV and the wife pleading for him to take her out to dine at a new exotic restaurant As I started to read it, I was reminded of the many scenes from All In The Family Juith and Archie Bunker My character 60 years old. and interaction which they humorously brought into all our lives.

The second script a married couple age range 30 to 50. Wife comes up missing for two days, and the husband has the painful task of announcing he filed for a divorce from her. Well, I have a choice to decide which one.....so I am learning both scripts and will make the decision on Saturday. I do favor the second a more serious and dramatic role.

Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh, I am at he coffee shop a few hours ago, studying my lines for this Saturday screen test and the cell rings, I pick it up and oh goodness, it was the casting director requesting if I would be available to play the feature actor role as the "Piano Player" in yet another civil war movie.....I was outside at the table with the umbrella and screamed and ran inside bursting with excitement.....I have finally calmed down friends are going to stop by and visit, this will be my 3rd role featured principal actor as a "The Piano Player" I will await the decision by the director. .

I hope Jaxine and Mary and Carlyn and everyone is doing ok.
Cheers,
Michael Hoard, Principal Actor, Artist and Photographer.

Jaxine, Mary, Carlyn, and everyone in the "Last Post Wins A Million Views" Update, confirmed I did land the role as "The Piano Player" it has been confirmed and just yesterday casting called to inquire would I mind my scheduled date for filming the role be pushed back from July 25 til the end of the month I did reply "of course not". From make-up, to wardrobe it gives everyone time to transform me to my period character as "The Piano Player" and most importantly the particular scene. It seems now, plans are in the making for not one debut on the "big silver screen" but "two". I do have plans to attend now both official premiere of the films to be released next year. I am uncertain at the moment exactly where that will take place but would assume a world premier opening would occur here in New Orleans. The "Underground Railroad" is being shot on location outside of New Orleans and will travel to the set.

Mary, I do not know if you remember the old series "Hawaii Five O" I have seen a few episodes of the new "Hawaii Five O' wow, wow, wow, the scenic backgrounds are just stunning of "Hawaii" you are so fortunate to live in Paradise and have such a fantastic location to work on all your numerous projects.

Yesterday, a long time friend assisted me with my script, for days I walked around with a recording of the entire script and listened over and over my lines I had to memorize. All my life my short term memory does not exist but ask me anything about something which occurred in retrospect and it registers. It may be the key also why it is I have to hear the music I perform listen, and then interpret the sounds to the keyboard. As far as the original pieces of music I hear in my head now that remains a mystery to me. There is something quite unique and perhaps may be why the music professors at the university came up to me while performing on the baby grand during lunch approached me and mentioned I classical music sounds like a 19th century pianist. It did astonished them when they discovered I had never had a lesson in my entire life.

I sure hope everyone is as busy producing new work can not wait to see them up and posted here at the "The Last Post Wins The Million Views" I have asked many times, how is our fellow member Mario doing? At times I wonder does he pop in from time to time and read and see what an exciting forum he created!!!!!! Hope things are going successful Mario!!!!!!!

Cheers,
Michael Hoard, Principal Actor, Artist and Photographer.

Michael, what a roll you are on! Yes, I remember the old Hawaii 5-0 and met a few members of the cast long ago. I do not watch much TV, haven't seen one show from the new 5-0. More recently while living on Kauai - do you remember the woman who played a Cop in some of those shows? Also Doug Mossman played both good and bad guys in many shows. They were all acquaintances at one time of other. On Kauai, the woman Cop - Tiffany - was a good friend. She was actually a stunt woman who broke her back and a leg in a stunt. She retired and fully recovered, now living in Australia but traveling to Greece to see relatives, also to parts unknown because she's free to see the world and can afford it.

OK everyone. I have had me one busy year. Preparing to sell the Kauai house. 3 Big estate sales. Sold 2 cars and the house. Everything went in storage. Lived 2 months on Oahu while finding a condo to buy and waiting for escrow to close. Then moving in and buying new furniture, having 6 pieces made because can't find what I need. Getting resettled. And while all this was going on, didn't skip a beat in my work. Re-published two books. Wrote another one now ready to be published in July. Painted several canvasses (paintings on Sunday A.M.s only) and Scouting around this new island photographing its beauty. 'Course that also means uploading to my PC and cleaning when necessary as well. About the only thing I haven't done is get all those magnificent images uploaded to FAA. But that will come, in time.

So after my busy year, I am taking a break and will be returning to Kauai solely for the purpose of photographing the beauty of that island. Leaving tomorrow early so I may not be posting till I get back in a week. But I will be lurking and commenting when I can.

Greetings Mary, wow, nice to see you pop into the forum. And yes, I do remember the original Hawaii Five O episodes how exciting is that to be associated with the actors and actresses. Since my first public exposure internationally on the PBS "Antiques Road Show" I appeared on back in 2001 and the local episode which was filmed here in New Orleans I still to this day have strangers come and tell me "oh you are the guy who was on the antiques road show". I remember years back I believe my brother informed me he informed me then it he had seen it on at least 10 occasions that was years ago. Wow, what a wonderful image of your skink, though not like that one, we have the skinny black snake looking skinks. there bodys dark brown to black and the underside usually white. Years ago here in New Orleans they would be seen everywhere but have not seen many recently. And I am certain during Katrina when the city flooded, so many creates drowned and others survived to continue to renew the population.

It is obvious Mary and I am glad to see your are back taking so many new photos of your new surroundings. And my same sentiments, the thousands of photos I have yet to post. Working on new presentation for my gallery of new marketing image concepts with older images and giving them new life. Have a safe trip and look forward to those images!!!!!!!!!

@Marian, wow, wow, wow what a stunning watercolor, beautiful composition and colors.

@Jamie, holy smokes, how far away were you? If that isn't a "National Geographic" image nothing is. Were you surprised to just find the black bear resting? Were you alarmed at all? Be careful taking photos such as that in nature, excellent capture!!!!! Congrats on your candid capture.....

Hi everyone. Here's my last post before I leave in an hour. Won't be back till the 26th.

I plan to take as many more images as humanly possible this week. Can't wait!

Here's a thought: Everyone reading this and who would like should plan to meet in Scottsdale or Phoenix next year at the time I posted above in the thread. If I know how many people ahead of time, I will try to reserve a restaurant nook or something. We will rock that place!

Please post! Keep this thread alive. Once it ends, FAA is not allowing any new threads of this nature. Keep this alive, Friends.

Greetings Mary, have a safe and wonderful time on your brief getaway......gosh, I saw another Hawaii Five O the new episode gosh, stunning photography. I am definitely going to be in attendance next October 2016, I a look forward as well the photo ops in the region. I am seriously thinking about doing the train from New Orleans and may then journey to California. It should be a great gathering of artist and photographers. You know there had been talk in previous times about a Fine Art America convention, that would be sensational a different host city each year. Include me I could not pass up the opportunity to meet you and Jaxine and Karlyn and others.

I went to a festival today and hot as dickens, smelter temperatures, heat index possible 109 feels like 109 or higher. I can not wait to view some more new photos from you!!!! Take care and have a great time!!!! I sure hope Jaxine I am getting a bit worried about her.. I had my first screen test today for the upcoming 48 hour film workshop....my first speaking roles. Directors and casting and many in observance, they actually taped two sessions of my screen test. The old red tractor, Tractor Retired that is a wonderful photo!!!!

Your idea Mary sounds great, I can not wait to hear Jaxine's response

Finally home again. The only thing that went wrong is that I told my roomy I would hold his house keys while he played golf all week. Then I lost the keys. I think it was in the condo. Other than that, it was a most spectacular vacation. I took over 1600 shots. I am sure I will cull only the best and dump most of them. But for the time being, I just walked in the door tired, so here's a recent image but now one of the new ones yet till I process. Whew!

Aloha Michael and everyone. This Discussion is getting too quiet and they will close it down if not active. I'll have new pictures soon. As tired as i was, stayed up till midnight uploading my new pictures and deleting many, many, and haven't scratched the surface. Will work right on through the weekend, except Sunday morning when I paint.

As for Jaxine and Karyn, I believe Jaxine has gotten Karyn involved in the galleries and such. They live near each other, or at least both in the Phoenix area.I know Jaxine wasn't feeling well but last thing I remember her talking about was setting up a new show or gallery.

Wish other people who post here would comment too.

This is an older picture, just posting till new ones available.
