Hi, could someone tell me what is wrong with my profile on fineartamerica (http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/oleksandr-maistrenko.html)?
Is it really so bad?
I didn't sell any prints yet but my page was visited more then 1000 times.
Thanks.

get a twitter account, it's way to easy to lose your google account. and hard to find friends that are into art on facebook.

Oleksandr, your art is very good. You need to really market yourself or no one knows you exist. Listen to others who have been at this far longer than I. It really does work!!!

Love the subtle presence of your photos.... this one especially speaks to me:

great to read all your comments and suggestions everyone. will check up on all those marketing links Abbie,
and the various keyword sites people have added too.
I am new to FAA (couple of months) and no sales yet.... its all a big learning curve, but trust it will bear fruit (and sales) very soon!
How can it not, we all believe in and love what we do and sharing it with the world...
Persistence, patience and practical promoting of our names, as you so rightly say Roy, will bring results one day.
Google+, Stumble, Tweet, FB, Linkedin....promote on all of them! as you say Joann - I have not yet posted my images on Google+ or Stumble yet....then there is YouTube too!
so much to do :)

Thank you very much!
All of your advices are very helpful!
And thanks for all your kind words about my photographs.
I started with profile photo and short bio :)
For promotion my pictures I use facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/oleksandr.maistrenko.9) and G+ page (https://plus.google.com/u/0/115518413153465622062/posts).
My works are also present on 500px.com (http://500px.com/sunlancer).

I find this key word search works best for me though you have to tailor it a bit.

it takes a long time to sell things. the amount of views, doesn't matter. you have to find people that like the work and it might be hard and uphill. it doesn't have to be photos, lots of things sell, but the buyer has to like it. they have to imagine it in their house. a couple of months isn't that long, my stuff often takes 3-6 months or more, before it sells. advertise every day at least 3 images a day.

good one, I like this one a little better:
http://arcurs.com/keywording/
But don't forget, all those are geared to stock, many keywords will match but you need different ones for fine art

And someone leave this for making keywords:

Hi, i am here since 03/15/2013, i have 1,039 visitors and 170 comments, still no sale too.
I think we are similar but most of my pieces are not photos.
I guess if i keep pushing every one or two days i will make after a few months.

Wow, you got great work, all of your 34 images would fit great in this collection. All it takes is click the submit button and it will give you much more exposure and possibly sales.
Und du lebst in Wien, da bin ich geboren. Komm in diese gruppe, es ist sehr gut. Du bist ein sehr guter Fotograf.

The only thing that will sell your work is your name - and if you don't get your name out there - nothing will sell. Someone may accidentally stumble on your work and want one - but the chances are one in about 500,000. slightly better odds than winning the power ball tomorrow night.

Agreeing with others here, add your avatar (face profile is good) and you really need a bio. You have a good a chance as others on FAA, but do realize that some, even those who sell well now , may not have sold a thing for months and months after first joining. I am not sure totally why, but is how this site seems to work. have patience and as others say, market as much as you can, and not just here on FAA.

you can start with an avatar and a bio. you only have 35 images which is not that many. and only have been here for a few months. views don't mean much if it's not to a buyer. you can use more keywords and descriptions, but mostly you need to advertise yourself because you will be in the back of the search since you haven't sold anything yet.
the image is nice, but you have hardly any keywords, no description, and a plain title. google likes words and the word boat won't attract attention. what kind of boat? where is it located? etc. add that stuff the tags as well as you name.
some of these aren't for sale, and if i was a buyer i would not ask to see if it was for sale. further you have many images with the same exact title. make them all different. and again more tags and describe what we are looking at. there isn't much to go on.

Your images are beautiful! Yes, add a headshot or one of your fave images that best represents your style. Altho, I heard most people like to put a face to a name. :)
As everyone has said, it's all in the marketing. Add more tags, use every describable word you can think of. By the way, I think your work would do well marketed to the corporate design fields.
Good luck!

Your images are nice. Something will sell eventually, just keep pushing your marketing.

You need to add a headshot :) That is not why you have no sales but it does help to have an image there
Your images are beautiful!!
