There are active discussions on here asking for people to like or follow on Facebook and Twitter, I thought it might be an idea for members to promote their own websites. If you post your website address and click on two or three other members links and go and look at their site, and if possible like them on Social Network sites - FB, Twitter, Stumble etc.
It will encourage members to promote your site if you say whose site you have visited and what action you have taken to promote their site.
This will help their SEO with Google and providing members reciprocate, it could help us all in promoting our individual sites.
I believe that Google are no longer giving credit for links into a site via a links page, but do put emphasis on links from Social Network sites.
Also, if you have the time and inclination, you could post some comments (positive please!) about the sites visited.
Anyway, here is my site - I will check out any members sites that are listed (at least the first dozen or so!

There are General Forum Discussion posted Directories for...... Twitter, Facebook, Google +, Stumble, Pinterest,
You can put the title into Discussion Search, and find those threads.

" So if you do list your site here, please play the game and take the effort to do something positive to promote the sites that you visit. "
Tony, Basically that is exactly the purpose for those directories which Beth, and others have put together, I believe.
Here's the one Jean put together for Pinterest :

Thanks to everyone who has posted so far and promoted the sites they have visited.
I appreciate the link to the discussions about Twitter, Facebook etc., but this thread is for members to visit other members websites and promote them through these social network sites to help increase the sites search rankings and to introduce them to other possible visitors..
Unless the members who list their own sites here view and like or favourite or Stumble etc. other members sites, nothing will be achieved.
So if you do list your site here, please play the game and take the effort to do something positive to promote the sites that you visit.
Many thanks
Tony

@ Randall - First, your photographs are really stunning and you've made the right choice by displaying them prominently on your site. Some suggestions I would give are to 1) copy edit the text (I see typos), and 2) make purchasing your work easier for the visitor; instead of just giving a link on the purchase page, why don't you link the images in your gallery directly to the image on your FAA profile? The less steps it takes a visitor to make a purchase, the higher your odds of making a sale. EDIT - I tried to FB like you, but your FB icon is not linked.
@ Tony - Great job on integrating your FAA shop into your site--easy access to shopping is key to sales success. Overall, I found your site a bit noisy on the homepage (the ads were very distracting) and a little frustrating to navigate. It looks as though you have made the investment of purchasing a URL and FAA membership and this helps with your business credibility. May I suggest a free web design platform to you? It is called Weebly and it is drag and drop web design. Advantages of Weebly are that your blog is integrated into your domain site and you can do a lot with a free membership including html integration (you know those codes FAA provides for individual images from your profile) and you can use your purchased domain so that you maintain a professional web presence. EDIT - FB liked you
@ Christina - You have a plethora of nice work to show off. One thing that I couldn't find was information about you, the artist. Tell people about you because there is nothing people like better than hearing a good background story. People are story-oriented creatures. :) It appears that you've invested in an FAA membership, would you consider purchasing a domain name too? If nothing else, having a paid-for domain name will boost your professional credibility. I'm unsure about FAA artist websites, but on many free hosting platforms you can use a redirect to have everything display under your .com name. EDIT - you have purchased a URL. Disregard that part. :) Also, I liked your FB page
@ Greg - You've got some super photography to sell! Why did you bury your sales discount news in your website? Put that juicy tidbit on the front page where people will see it and (hopefully) act! Also, you need to have an "About" page because I see nothing about the "man behind the site" when I look at it. Tell us your story--people get drawn in when there is something engaging to read. EDIT - FB liked you.
Hopefully these critiques help.
All the best,
-Natalie

I had some time this morning over my coffee, so I picked a few recently posted sites and visited them all!
Philip Sweeck: I like the layout of your site - the stark design is a perfect complement to the photography. I really like your work, it has a certain darkness but it's soft at the same time. I bookmarked your site and will go back to explore more of your images. You have a clear style and I always appreciate that.
Natalie Sweetabow: Nice layout - the blog style works well, but I wish there was more room to show your images! Your work is radiant and joyful and tells me you're a very happy person. I didn't find any bad links or problems in my visit. :)
Zeana Romanova: The black background of your site is a a great showcase for your work. I really like some of the birds! I like your post processing techniques with the photos, too. I found your site easy to get around in, too. You have a wide variety of work!
Loretta Luglio: I like that your images are front and center, and the thumbnail function of that site is really nice! You also have a clear style and I like that you tend to draw from similar, saturated and rich color palettes. It gives a lot of cohesion to your portfolio, which is nice.
Kirsten McCoy: I like the black background and the function of your site - nice to see big images, and they load quickly. Very lovely work, I just adore how gestural and free you are with brushstroke and color. I enjoyed exploring!

Cynthia,
Your work is incredible! I loved going through your site--the imaginary locales are so dreamy. :)
One major problem I noticed, is that you do not state your name anywhere on your site. Knowing your name, if even only your first, would make a more personable impression.
I shared your prayer flag artwork on my FB and liked your page. :)
Thanks for your feedback about my site--it's a thought I had too, I guess I'm still sorting out how I want to balance the talk with the images.

This thread started well and received some positive comments but now seems to have died - partly because I have not had much time recently to follow everything up.
This is what I originally posted :" If you post your website address and click on two or three other members links and go and look at their site, and if possible like them on Social Network sites - FB, Twitter, Stumble etc.
I have now totally revamped my site and would really appreciate any positive or at least constructive comments. I will visit as many sites as I can and if possible promote them on social media sites
