No Right Click

Posted by: Isabella F Abbie Shores on 03/30/2013 - 8:15 PM

We were talking about theft from websites.

If you have your own html (or PHP) based site and know what you are doing, just use this to help

It will NOT stop, but can deter

No Right Click

Put this just after the HEAD tag

<script language=JavaScript> var message="I am sorry but Right Click is disabled on this page!"; function clickIE4(){ if (event.button==2){ alert(message); return false; } } function clickNS4(e){ if (document.layers||document.getElementById&&!document.all){ if (e.which==2||e.which==3){ alert(message); return false; } } } if (document.layers){ document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN); document.onmousedown=clickNS4; } else if (document.all&&!document.getElementById){ document.onmousedown=clickIE4; } document.oncontextmenu=new Function("alert(message);return false") </script>

You can see this one in action by clicking here http://1stangel.co.uk/tuts/norightclick.htm

Hope this helps

Thanks, Beth, I'm going to use that right now. Or maybe not. Don't believe I have that option.

Would it work on our Artist site?

No, because you cannot get into the head

We already have no right click on the image pages

If people wish to use it then they should be allowed to use it without harrassment.

That is why we have Facebook Like buttons etc.

I actually do not use a No Right Click but, I completely understand those people who do

I am glad it is working for people who want it :)

I have deleted the message saying how to countermand this.... the less help thieves get, the better

We all know this is not the be all and end all of safety features. It is a deterrent only
