Hi,
I had notice of a recent sale but was notified that I needed to reshoot and upload my image. I did so and notified Courtney by email. I haven't heard back whether it is now okay. How do I find out? Since I was advised that you like to ship orders within 48 hours I am surprised that no-one has responded. Any ideas?

Katie, after you have changed the image, you sometimes just have to click the refresh button for the new image to show.

I did receive an email from Courtney that the problem was resolved and that my order had gone to production so hopefully all is well.
Elisabeth, when I was originally trying to fix my picture I was using the change image button but after I uploaded it continued to show the image with the original cropping problem. It wasn't 'til I deleted the original and had to repost the whole thing that it showed correctly. Unfortunately I wiped out all the votes and comments that had been tied to the original image so i'm starting from scratch on that. What step did I miss? Is there a tutorial for how to submit the corrected image and refresh it? I obviously missed the refresh part.

I had that problem - sent a new image - they worked with it - the buyer was happy - I got paid - I'm happy. But no, until I got paid - the next month - I hadn't a clue if they had still printed it or not. I think they only tell you if they aren't going to print.

I am not on quality control yet so cannot answer. I will be in a week or two.
If it was that long ago, and the sale is still showing in your Behind the Scenes, you should be fine.

I just got an email from Courtny that everthing was good and my print on its way to production! Thanks again to everyone for their advice and encouragement.

Elizabeth,
I changed my image, (not thorough uploading), and sent three emails to Courtney, since Monday. Yet, when I log in I see a message from Courtney, asking me to change the image.
I'd just like to know, if the new image worked.

Just edit and upload as change image
or email orders- at - fineartamerica.com and let them know there

sounds like it's too late, any way to let the them know it's in a new directory?

You must change the image, not upload a new one... so quality control know where to go to get it. Or they may not realise you have altered the sold one

you can edit the image. though i'm guessing we both had it in the cache, i didn't think to refresh it. the problem with erasing the old one, any votes, views and comments are also removed, which descreases your rank in the search
but yeah, it looks better now. the edges are clean, it looks straight, and it doesn't look so close to the edge as it once did.

Mike Thanks for sticking with me on my learning curve. I didn't realize that I had to delete the original image before putting up the new one. I was just hitting the change image button. I think I've got it fixed now.

Thanks A for the tutorial link. Mike, even after straightening the picture again it seems it made no difference.

that white strip shouldn't be there. it should just be him going down to the edge of the picture (not the edge of the canvas). there should be no white strip, no edges, just clean on all sides.

Mike, I'm not sure what is going on I see what you are talking about but that edge just isn't there in my original and even after I cropped it a second time that lower left edge shows the same size white strip when theupload posts. I don't understand.

there is still a huge crop like on the bottom and left. but it is larger so that means you can sell more sizes. but you have to remove those lines there.
see how clean it looks on the right? the top, left and bottom should be just as clean. no shadows, edges, etc.

I just reloaded the new image. I'm afraid I am hopelessly ignorant about camera settings so obviously I am out of my element here. Clearly the next thing I need to do is take some courses in photography and until I do I'd better get a professional to take pictures of my art, ya think? Again thanks for all the input and suggestions, I'm not giving up but I need to educate myself better.

14mp camera is capable of producing much higher resolution images, is it cropped too much? Are you shooting with the best quality and size settings in your camera?

Katie,
Thanks for the reply, and listen to what Mike is saying about cropping the edges of the image. :)

i can only judge by what i see. the edges are shown, and if the edges are propped up like that, it means the image is crooked. those edges can be showing or they will print just as you see it on the screen. you want to crop those edges right off. you want edge to edge image. you'll lose a little bit on the edges when you do this though, which is why you want it nice and straight.

Greg this is what the said:
Unfortunately, there is a problem with your image that will prevent us from making a high-quality print:
1. The image is very blurry when viewed at full resolution.
2. The image is not cropped correctly.
You need to reshoot the image using a high-resolution camera (12 megapixels) and tripod in outdoor lighting. Please note - camera phones, iphones, ipads, and similar devices are not suitable for producing high-quality prints. You need use a true digital camera with zoom and focus controls.
Mike,
Thanks for the advice. I guess my eyes are crooked because I really don't see it. As to the edges, I didn't paint right up to the edges (is that what you meant?) so the edge of my picture may have an unfinished look. I may have to go back to the drawing board on this. I am such a novice at all this so I am thankful for all of your comments.
I just reshot it again and am uploading it now.

oh and whatever the original problem was, that they didn't like, make sure none of the other images have that problem, fix it before hand.

when something sells i go right to the image especially if it's an old one and see if it's too noisy or the like. then repair it before they can bug me. it takes about 12 hours before you get the note, and like another 12 before they can get back to you. it's like communicating with people on mars - it takes like a day for the message to get there and back.

My image is my Louis Armstrong 2. I have reshot and submitted the image but I wasn't able to get it much clearer than the original shot. I followed all suggestions, using a tripod, 14.1 megapixel camera and timer release.

Normally if you do not hear then you are okay
Just reply to the email and then hold on. If they are not happy they will normally contact you

it takes them like 12 hours before they respond. which image is it?
it really takes too long for a response for something that is as important as a sale. maybe beth or one of the blue people have an in and can find out faster.

Things sound kinda screwy to me, and I certainly don't have an answer. Here's another member with sort of the same problem.
