Since it was Good Friday, I searched my images and found one I had taken 6 yrs ago. It was a statue of Jesus I found at a cemetery. I started treating it in Photoshop and one thing led to another. This is the result...

This is mighty powerful - Niagara River above the falls

The powerful forces of nature...I've never seen layers of sandstone (or any rock for that matter) bent in an almost perfect "U". I sat and looked at this for about 30 min in amazement before I started shooting. It was a WOW moment, for sure.

I guess it's just me now...

I would say this one for me. I took it not thinking much of it but when I got to editing it, the colors really started to pop.

Mine would no doubt be this one that I call "Dodging Autumn". I took this shot a few years ago of my husband's late father's old Dodge truck. It had been retired to an area in among the aspen trees near the family homestead cabin. The colors that year were phenomenal! I'm SO thankful I took that photo then....because last September we lost everything at the family homestead cabin of over 50 years to a devastating wildfire. The second shot is the "after".

I had a similar experience with this photo - when I looked at it later I felt it said something.

The image of the mother and her daughter is poignant enough in itself, but when you take into account what's displayed in the window behind them...

Brian, I used to live 30 seconds from the beach, and I was always amazing at the things I would find washed up on the beach, that image is a great portrayal of the damage that we do to our planet. Sad but powerful image!

Woah, that's quite an image, Brian. I like these photos.... the ones that stop and make you think. Sometimes it's not just enough to say "Oh, that's pretty" but rather "Hold on...."

I knew when I took the picture of the powerful message this image was capable of giving. Unfortunately at the time I took it I had no idea I would one day be on FAA uploading it. For other reasons at the time, I was not saving my images in the highest resolution so it suffers from quality, but as some might say, "Content Is King"...



I was visiting Philadelphia on a business trip but walked around with my camera when not working. I saw way too much of this type of scene while I was there...


This one has a similar theme. I recently redid it in an effort to bring the quality up. The elements in the image were composed to help accentuate the idea around the subject matter...

I can see why you miss that view! truly beautiful image, I hope you get to see it soon! I think is amazing that sitting in a NYC apt, I can see why u long for that experience again.

That is definitely powerful, Sam. I have those moments sometimes where a photograph doesn't impact me until I upload it onto my computer. That happened with this one:



It wasn't until I uploaded it onto my work computer, which has a really wide monitor, that I saw how truly special this image was. This was what I saw every morning when I looked out my window when I stayed in Ketchikan, Alaska for five days. However, I didn't really miss those mountains and their proximity to my hotel until I saw this photo. Now that I'm back in Washington and the mountains are farther away, I find myself craving those Alaskan mountains every day.
