Is there a problem with Google + ? Everytime I G+ an image now, the number does not change.

Thanks

all i know is, i was banned from using it because i was using it to advertise the stuff from here.

sean also replaced the buttons, so maybe the counter doesn't activate right away.

OK thanks Mike : )

Mike,

Interesting. Did the ban come from FAA's side, or Google's?

The button appears to be counting shares instead of +'s now. Looks to be the same with facebook (only shares not likes?) the behavior of social buttons has changed since the update. I mentioned this in the Bugs & Fixes thread, I'm not sure if the change was intended to be that way or not?

both technically. i can't post anything to google, it just gives me a triangle if i try here. on the site i can read but can't do anything else with it. on top of that, i can't post comments to youtube, or blogs i think. they don't tell you exactly what you did, or how to fix it, or how to prevent it. just a vague list of things that it could be. i can't even make a business account.

@Mike

How about logging out of google and creating a new google account?

i could try it, but i would need a new email. and in the end, i would have to start over again, and then, still not upload anything to it. it doesn't really seem worth it. there's a long list of people who have been banned from that place for one reason or another. i also don't want to chance being removed from their search.

i'm giving pinterest a second shot. as much as it pains me to do it since i don't trust them at all. but it seems that even though i blocked them, they still have 100's of my works all pinned recently. so i might as be in control of it. i'm guessing that if they did pull something fishy, the world would know about it in minutes.

@Mike

And that means what - you are going to create your own pinterest account and pin your own images into it?

Is that what people do here?

i made one a year ago, but then stopped after deciding i didn't want to give my images to them. so it's still there, i'm just going to recreate it. i can add a price, my name and description to each one so i have a little more control over it. and then they do whatever it is they do over there.

I also have a rarely used pinterest site and was wondering if it would be better to post small, watermarked images there and a link in the comments section back to this site for any potential buyers.

So far I let FAA automatically post my new images to Pinterest when I first upload them. It seems to generate at least some views. I also pin FAA images by other artists but only from their FAA profile page to insure it's with the artist's permission. I've pinned occasionally from other websites as well to make sure I am not banned for only posting my own images.

I don't know if it helps improve traffic for other artists but I keep an FAA artist board on my Pinterest site...

as far as i know they don't ban you from pinterest, since that's it's only purpose it's not like a chat group like google is trying to push. for a while they didn't want anyone to do that, but they found they had no choice but to make it commercial.

i know the site didn't help me in zazzle. they pinned it, but didn't buy any.

@Paul,

"was wondering if it would be better to post small, watermarked images"

My question and my thoughts, too. I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Perhaps a little smaller, too, than on FAA.

The problem I see with the auto-posting FAA app is that what is shared is not watermarked (I think!)

They'll only ban you if you keep posting one after another constantly. Split it up to like maybe 2 or 3 a day and you shouldn't have a problem. I haven't had a problem yet.

i don't think it matters, i was there for many months before it was shut down. it's a matter of time with that place.
