The Drought Might Be Over!

I've been in the painting doldrums for the entire month of January. However, today I took some pictures and Frankensteined them together into something resembling a reference photo. I had this idea of playing yellows and purples against each other, being complimentary colors. My wife found these beautiful purple flowers that I could play against some sunflowers -- BOOM, a subject is born! I'll pick up a canvas tomorrow, and get the photo printed. I can't wait to paint again!

I hate it when I get stuck!

Glad to hear. Anxious to see the mystery flower when done. You are in the magic zone now.

Good to hear you're getting back on your feet. The flowers might be crocus. We too have very confused gardens, with all kinds of buds and sprouts already coming up.

I've searched ALL my old records for one particular photo I took in 2009. It's here on FAA, but I cannot find my original - from which I already have paper, brush, water, and paper ready to use - I just need to find that stinkin' image to use as my reference.

Well there is always the title, "Purple Mystery".

The only problem is that I do not know what the purple flowers are. It is going to be hard to name the painting without knowing.
