Frozen Sea And Fresh Water Landscapes

Posted by: Janice Drew on 01/29/2013 - 12:30 PM

Last week's temps lead to a frozen harbor here in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It's fascinating since it doesn't happen that often. Does anyone else have any photos of ocean freeze?

Janice, I'm not a photographer, I just wanted to say nice shots!
I'm not real close to the shore, in South Jersey. I get there enough,
but my pic qualities are only so-so compared to many here. I take them
mostly as a visitor/tourist, a whole 50 minutes or so away. I mostly take
them for painting reference. I have found seagulls make a good subject.
Now we even get them coming inland looking for food.

Ken, thank you for taking the time to comment on my photographs. I appreciate it.

I now realize I should have created a thread for icy formations instead of limiting it to ocean freeze. Therefore, I am changing the subject line.

There you go, great idea but I'm afraid icy formations won't make me a better photographer.
I did see some recent threads on snow and winter themes. I don't know about
icy formations.

Here's some icy formations clinging to rocks and branches hanging over a running streams. This is fresh water. However, the brook eventually runs into the ocean.
