1099-thanks Sean =)

Posted by: Angelina Vick on 01/17/2013 - 3:44 PM

I just got my email for the 1099.

Thank you Sean. This will make tax prep easier.

And...thanks for doing it quickly and not waiting until the last minute. =)

I got it too, but don't want to open the link and put info there. I don't trust it

It's legit.

I put in the last four and the document pulled up.

it's fine

Ok Thanks, I did it!

It's a secure site (or as secure as it can get) -- it's using HTTPS.

Yes - it's a legitimate e-mail.

It mentions with a request we can get a paper on in the mail.

How do we go about getting a paper one mailed to us?

Posted by: Jessica Jenney on 01/17/2013 - 6:08 PM

It's a PDF file so you can print it out yourself

I do not have a printer and do not want to use the library for something with this info on it.

I have still not received any notice of a 1099 for my 2012 sales. I am not getting sales notification either and yet I do get notice of emails. Actually I don't think I'm getting my weekly update again. GRRRRRRRRRRR

Posted by: Jessica Jenney on 01/17/2013 - 7:42 PM

Is everyone getting a 1099 form?

Posted by: Richard Rizzo on 01/17/2013 - 7:43 PM

I got it too, thank you.

Jessica - people only need one if they are A: US residents B: made over $600 in the past year

Andee... I think if you go to that email link, at that point somewhere on the screen you can request a mailed copy. Or Andee, you could download the pdf and print it at a friends place. And actually, you don't really need to print it out at all. I saved mine to pdf and that is how it will stay. Why waste the paper? :)

it does look a lot like spam, but i did get it, mostly because i was expecting it. i wonder how many erased theirs thinking it was fake or phishing.

Not sure how I fit in, since I'm an American citizen living abroad, and YES... still having to file American taxes. Guess I won't be getting one.

You don't really need to get one, you can just fill it out yourself when you file.

What does it mean by entering my last 4 digits of my tax number? I do not think i have one if not where do i get one if i may ask?

Posted by: Joann Vitali on 01/18/2013 - 12:34 AM

@Andee...You can download the file to a thumb drive and go to Staples or Kinkos and do it yourself so you don't have to worry about anyone storing the files.

Joann I do not have one of those.

Jeff I could not find anywhere to request a mailed copy. :(
